I am interested, within the BDSM lifestyle, the often misunderstood Switch,I was wondering if Switches were prone to mood swings. Is it possible that it is a mood swing,be it bi polar, depression or other malady that could be responsible for the switch.

I label as switch here, and I think it is to do with my mood swings, depending on the mood,is what I am.

What do others here think,it would be helpful to me to hear if others think it a possibility,a certainty or just plain everyone is different.

I label myself a switch here but I am truly a bottom and a top......I have both tendecies, one is not stronger than the other. Somtimes I feel one way sometimes I feel another and neither have anything to do with mood swings. For me either role I play is a form of stress release.

Well we're as prone to mood swings as anyone.  But I haven't noticed it being causal.  Usually my mood intensifies whichever part of the slash I'm already on with that person.

my moods usually swing with the crap that life tends to throw at us, or around my menstral cycle.  I can't say that if I'm sad today then I want to bottom or if I'm happy today then I want to bottom.  My ability to find a good top affects whether I want to bottom or not. Otherwise I'm plain ol' dommish Donna *S*.

For me, it's definitely not a mood swing that puts me in sub or dom mode.  I do have mood swings on occasion, but it's certainly not causally tied to being one way or the other.  For me it's more of choosing to express one or the other side of my nature, and parly it's about the role that best complements the person I'm in scene with.

Even though not all mood swings rise to the level of a disorder, it wouldn't surprise me if some people who switched did so in accordance with their moods.
