you know, forgive my squirrely ignorance here, but at a "Vanilla" event, one Dom got mad that another Dom asked to pass the water? This seems to me like a giant case of "whos the bigger Dom" not for nothing, but save the pissing contest for the locker room, boys. doesnt speak very highly of your Image of YOURSELF to be whining like that in front of Subs.
On that note, I was litteraly chased at a party one night by a Woman who claimed to be a Mistress. I guess because I paid attention to her at the begining of the night , I must have "become" hers, because as the night progressed, she became more and more abusive and centered on me. I finally told her "Look, Im not impressed, leave me alone." Well, you would think I spit in the Fondue. She lost her mind, screaming at me you dont EVER tell me what to do. So I told her "Grow either some bigger arms or a brain honey, Im not a sub. now does one say DUH!!! or DOH!

sounds to me like this male 'dom' went to the same school as DomRaymond and so believes that common courtesy or politeness somehow equates to submissiveness -

I'm going to get a button that says "All Mah Life, REALLY!!!" Having been in the lifestyle all of my life, it has always been a part of my life. Just integrated therein. I am a dominant woman, but when people visit me, if I am going in the kitchen for coffee, I'll get them a cup too. We live in this world together, it helps if we can get along, and be courteous to one another.

I don't see that situation as having anything at all to do with dominance or submission, but rather just bad manners.

Hello,

Well, you would think I spit in the Fondue.

Im sure if you look hard enough you will find somebody who has eating spit in Fondue
as their kink.

I have actually used the line "Somebody piss in your cornflakes this morning?" when confronted by raging individuals, but I will definitely use this one.

Thank you,

Sinergy

I think it speaks to a high level of insecurity. Sometimes being dominant is like parenting. I have to be MUCH smarter than my eight year old daughter, or she'll take over the house. You see, just spanking her ass doesn't work with her - she may have inherited some of my own tendencies and I could just be providing fodder for her adult sexual life. I have to THINK about how to deal with her when she misbehaves. I have to be patient and wait until there is some really special event she wants to participate in and then say..."you know, remember when you....thus and so...."

This relates to "don't dom me" in the respect that in addition to the low level of self-esteem and security this type of person also feels, it speaks to the fact that he/she probably has a very difficult time with self-control, speaking at appropriate times, and understanding HOW to be a dominant. Perhaps if the actions were more conducive to the common perceptions of dominant behavior, i.e. uummm....MATURITY, MAYBE? there would be no need to command in such a way.

Hope that made sense.

Bingo!

And I'd add not a lot of self-esteem and quite a bit of insecurity.

slips in quietly and hopes no one gets upset that she replies to a question that was asked of other Dominants...but a thought went thru her head as she read this.

one of my favorite sayings is that we all serve each other just in different ways. One as a Dominant another as a sub, we serve in different roles. i have had so many respond negatively to that remark about how a Dominant doesn't serve, as though the thought of serving another would make them a submissive. on another thread i just replied that many can serve, not all can submit. serving another is something each of us do every day...just in different manners and ways we don't even realise. it sounds as though this one has serving and submission mixed up.
