Dosent it have to be more than 2 movies to be a series? but anyway, those were good B rated horror flicks. I also liked the hills have eyes (original, and 1 & 2)

Pitch Black

HIGHLY underrated movie, if you ask me.  I'm not sure it's a great movie of our time (and least not for me), but I'm glad this made someone else's list.

As a movie lover and DVD collector, i am very happy to contribute to this post.  Below is a list of movies that i think deserve special consideration.  As i have a strong love for Science Fiction films, I have separated those out from the rest.
Comments are VERY welcome!!!

A Man for All Seasons (1966)
  Nicholas and Alexandra (1971)
  The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
  The Last Samurai (2003)

Science Fiction:
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
  Forbidden Planet (1956)
  2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
  Blade Runner (1982)
  Aliens (1986)
  Contact (1997)
  The Matrix (1999)
The Lord of the Rings (2001-3)
  Serenity (2005)
  V for Vendetta (2005)

Special categories:
Musical:     1776 (1972)
War:          In Harm's Way (1965)
Anti-war:   Paths of Glory (1957)

Some that would make my list have been named, but the ones below are significant to me.

Imitation of Life (early 1930s version)

I first saw this one when I was in my teens sobbed all night, this continued to be a favorite for many years.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

I'll never forget first time I rented this one, had me roaring with laughter.  Brings back great memories.

Some others that I haven't seen mentioned that I thought were pretty great.

12 Monkeys
Crash
Daddy's Little Girl
Bourne Identity (Both)
The Contract
Shooter
Casino Royal
The Hunt for Red October
The Killing Fields
Wedding Crashers
Something New
The Big Chill
Anything With Brad Pitt.
Well, almost any, there was that one with the guitar and something about Mexico or something. can't recall the name nor do I want to.

That's my short list

I love this movie.  I watch it every time I run across it.
It's a good creepy movie and Vin has nice muscles.  Good combo.

Yep, Picth black would be on my list too.  The second one to it was ok, but the first had me on edge through out much of the movie.  Love it.

Yes it was an amazing movie;  and to think Dith Pran survived the event of the story to tell his experiences.
