why is it that men seem to think that just becouse they have put " Dom in front of their name that you have to do as they tell you or they have the right to call you vulger hatefull names?
i dont get any mail then in one day i get 4 from a man i have never talked to and when i did not do as i was"TOLD'" and exsplained thati did not knwo him and woudl perfer to getto knwo someone before i started doing anything with him, i get called a fake and wanabe and bitch and other such things., i have put him on ignore. i just wonder what makes men think that this is okay?

Honey,

These men aren't worth your trouble, and certainly aren't worth your aggervation. The are most assuredly 'on-line' only guys who haven't got the balls to get up, get out, and learn a thing or two in the real life scene. (If I've insulted you, tough. Bring on the hate mail...)

I would suggest that you find your local real time BDSM organization, and contact them to see if they offer munches or socials for folks who are interested in seeing if the group is right for them. It's much rarer that anyone who's practicing real time would take it upon themselves to treat you in such a manner. Conversely, I've met mostly people of quality in my RL experiences.

The fact is, you'll get to meet other submissives and get a chance to be brought into the scene and have questions answered and make friendships. My advice (not as if you asked...) is to go meet some of the other girls and make some friends. Other subs, much more than the Doms, right at this juncture, will be much more valuable to you vis a vis getting acclimated in your local community.

As for the trolls, don't feed them ;-)

Honey,

Most people don't understand relationships... let alone a relationship within the lifestyle. Just chalk it up to experience and hopefully you'll come across other people in the lifestyle that are knowledgeable and supportive. It takes time but you always have a few bad apples in the bunch... and they usually stand out!

I think you're confusing a human phenomena with a BDSM phenomena. Vanilla or Leather, most women run into that type of behavior on sex related sites.

When LaM writes like that he's not writing in that fashion because he's a generic board idiot.

He's quite articulate and can spell very well. He knows the difference between your and you're. If you check other posts in other topics where he's contributed you'll find that he has two very different ways of expressing himself.

Sometimes he'll write as he did in this topic to get a point across (this one being that there are dozens of other topics where the original poster vents about an email s/he had received). And sometimes he's one of the more eloquent and well written individuals on this forum.

I believe that is his Dumass Dom persona [:D] Until I learned that I was shocked a couple of time by those posts, as, like MadameDahlia said, he is incredibly articulate and (looks around surreptitiously) I tend to agree with alot of what he says and was like WHAT???? That CAN'T be the same person! LOL

just ignore and laugh at them and be thankful you found out within the first few sentences. Any man (and i've had my share) that IMs me "on your knees slut" OR my favorite was "Greet your Master" (my response was to giggle and say.. but he's at work so its virtually impossible!)

any man that comes at you like that isnt a Dom. You can spot a Dom pretty easily. Spotting "non" doms is even easier. Just cross them off as "non" Doms, perhaps giggle at whatever they say and move on

Not always but sometimes meeting people online is the only option.Besides when you click with someone you just do whether it's online or RL.
To the OP;i've received similiar nasty emails, the thing to do is put them on ignore and go on your merry way.Not all men/Doms are like this.i've actually met some decent ones here.Just don't let the dregs get you down

my absolute lowest was a man who contacted me, demanding my address so i could greet him, naked and on my knees, and give him a bj. when i declined, he went on and on about how i was not a real submissive and should get off the site. i was upset -- this happened not long after i came here and if i had not had my mentor to tell me "he's a jerk --possibly a dangerous one"; i might have really wondered if submissives behaved that way.

a man who contacts you without (1) appearing to have read your profile and (2) acting courteously is comparable to construction workers on the street yelling "hey baby! baby!" you would not respond to them -- do not respond to the mysoginists here. delete, block, whatever. report anything even remotely threatening to the site; report repetitious email with foul language to the site (harrassing speech violates Section 4 of the TOS). in all likelihood nothing will be done but possibly if another woman reports him, it might. and it is the right thing to do...this is the net version of the man who flashes you on the subway. it's a form of sexual assault.

bear in mind, as well, that if you feel threatened, you can turn to your county sherrif for help. a threat is a statement of an intent to harm you or your property or people you care for. something like "you better watch out; i know more about you than you think and i am no one to piss off"; that's marginally threatening. sending you pictures of your home, etc., is a more direct threat. if anything of this nature is going on, do not diddly dally; go to the sherrif's department. it may be embarrassing to admit you are on a BDSM web site but the sherrif's dept is not going to dismiss you because of that (at least none that i know of.)

i am very sorry you were contacted by a mean, ugly-spirited man, but i know you will make friends here as well and they will help you. fillepink

You seem like a bright woman. Did you really need a mentor to tell you that he was a jerk? Didn't your instincts tell you?

Something that really rubs me the wrong way (and this comment isn't directed at you fillepink) is when people compare submissives to delicate fragile innocent little preys that just bat their eyelashes in the eyes of adversity. Most of them totally kick ass when faced with adversity!
