Reported by: Britney Glaser

A sexual encounter turns deadly for one Lake Charles couple after a bizarre sequence of events.  McCindy Road in south Lake Charles is typically a quiet road, but a single gunshot fired early Thursday morning brought the neighbors outside.
Rebecca Miller lives down McCindy Road and saw flashing lights outside around midnight.  "We saw the ambulance and all that down here and we came out," says Miller.
Kimberly Grosset was visiting her boyfriend, Robert White when their time together took a bad turn.  Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso says, "White and Grosset were engaged in consensual sexual behavior involving a firearm when the firearm was discharged, resulting in his death."
The single bullet struck White in the head, and as he struggled to hold on to life, Grosset made an emergency call for help.  Mancuso says, "The shooter called 9-1-1 and we responded."
White was taken to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital where he died around 3:00 A.M. Thursday morning.  Authorities say the shooting appears to be an accident.  "From the information we've gathered," says Mancuso, "this is an activity that the couple engaged in frequently."
Since authorities believe there was no criminal intent behind White's death, Grosset has been charged with negligent homicide, which carries a maximum of five years behind bars.  Mancuso says, "When you know something's dangerous and you're intentionally still doing it, there's still a result and a consequence to that and in this particular case it would be negligent homicide."
Psychiatrist, Dr. Dale Archer, explains why some couples might engage in risky behavior together, "Most of us would look at a gun as something to cause fear, and therefore, it could trigger a similar type of chemical release in the brain, which would heighten the senses and enhance the sexual experience."
But in this case, it was an experience that had a deadly ending.
*Bond has still not been set for Grosset. She is being held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Fuck!  What a shame...

Okay...I'm fairly edgy, but I have the firm belief that guns are NOT toys (loaded or otherwise).

<shakes head>  What a damn shame...

I know nothing of what's involved in gun play other than the obvious...... a gun.  Maybe I'm naive, but I would have thought the gun would be unloaded?  Or maybe that's the thrill?  That it is loaded?

I dunno, but what a horrible nightmare.

MsBearlee -> RE: Gun Play with Tragic Ending in Louisiana (8/4/2007 12:34:55 PM)

Yup, it's apparently not as much fun if the gun isn't loaded.  sheeshhhhhhh

This incident kind of reminds me of breathplay; people restrict blood or oxygen to another till they pass out.  Ya know...they might return to consciousness 100 times...and then don't; just that one time.  Ugg...I don't wanna play THAT game, either.  Russian Roulette, anyone?

On a happier note, your avatar reminds me of something I just had to go play.  It's been around a long time, but I needed an attitude adjustment.  I just love this thing:

Let it load all the way, make sure your sound is turned UP...and click 'Play'.  It always makes me smile.

I am waiting for the newspaper story, "Gun play ends with happy ending."

Robert White was accidentally shot and killed earlier today by long term girlfriend, Kimberly Grosset, when the gun she was fucking herself with mysteriously discharged and  the bullet struck Mr.White in the head killing him instantly....Everyone including Ms Grosset appeared not to be to shaken over the ordeal of his death.....As one family member, who wished to stay anonymous, stated...."Bob was pretty much a cocksucker who will not be missed in the least. His demise is actually a blessing."

4 rules of firearms safety...

"My kink is mine, your kink is yours" be damned, Gunplay is fucking stupid on so many levels.

tsatske -> RE: Gun Play with Tragic Ending in Louisiana (8/4/2007 1:47:16 PM)

I have never had a Dom that I have managed to talk into gunplay. The curse, I suppose, of insisting on playing with responsible, intelligent, thoughtful men.
But, if one wants to engage in gunplay, yes, the gun should be unloaded. I suspect this gun was unloaded, in the opinion and belief of people who do not understand the definition of unloaded.
A gun is unloaded if, and only if, you have personally checked it and verified it to be unloaded, and it has neither left your hand nor been out of your sight, since.

Why do I find it hard to believe that the determination of negligent homicide would have happened had the roles been reversed. I can't imagine a man getting away with "no really, officer. She liked it when I pointed a loaded gun at her."

She apparently neglected to use the best safety mechanism ever: the one between her ears.

MasterDesire -> RE: Gun Play with Tragic Ending in Louisiana (8/4/2007 6:55:10 PM)

Sorry to say there are never accidents with guns  ONLY stupidity  GUNS are not toys and are not to be played with even more so today where a lot do not ahve safeties. There is only one safe gun and that is one unloaded but then a gun should never be treated as unloaded even if it is. The only safety is the person who holds the gun and some of thsoe are far from sane

AquaticSub -> RE: Gun Play with Tragic Ending in Louisiana (8/4/2007 7:02:36 PM)

I couldn't play with a gun. I can't even point toy guns at people ('cept for nerf guns and squirt guns). Even with the clip out, I don't think I could do it.

It's a gun. Not a toy. I will never be able to see it otherwise.

charlotte12 -> RE: Gun Play with Tragic Ending in Louisiana (8/4/2007 7:10:58 PM)

I agree that guns should not be treated as toys. I tend to go with the "everyone has their own kink" attitude but i also believe that just because something is your kink does not mean one does not have to be responsible. I wonder if the two of them had seriously considered not only the possibility of personal injury but the mess they could get their partner in if something were to happen. I am not trying to condemn or blame people who are obviously suffering and my thoughts go out to the people involved in this. It does make me step back and think again about playing with dangerous toys. Sure, the risk can be a thrill but if there is risk of actual death or serious injury i hope that the people involved have not only cosidered the consequences for themselves but for the person they are playing with. Such a trajedy

Just becasue an clip is out does not mean the gun is clear and safe.

Definately. I was shown how to make sure a gun is clear and safe, but it was always stressed to me that you always treat a gun as though it contains live rounds. Otherwise, you will get lax and accidents will happen.

Yes i don't think a gun should ever be treated as safe. The first time i held a gun i had to fire blanks for a stage show. All precautions were taken, theorectically no one was going to get hurt but it left me feeling shakey and not quite right for a while. I wish everyone viewed guns this way.

You can be killed with a blank actually. The name slips my memory but a famous actor from older days pulled a stunt for his friends and pressed a gun loaded with blanks to his temple and pulled the trigger. The air pressure (I believe that was what it was) killed him. Even blanks are not toys.
