Some people are simply so full of themselves that they feel they have rights-when they do not. Or that a role or title priviliges them with the ability to command. I feel that these people have conditioned themselves to unrealistic expectations. If they upset you,simply turn your back to them,and walk away. If they pursue and put hands on you,advise them that you will have no problem with filing assault charges, should they persist. If you had done this with the fellow who upset you-he would have lost face over it. You may have faced some small censure over it-but others would have laughed at him for his failure to make the gambit work. And he would have been more reluctant to try it again. Giving in only encourages more of this sort of childish behavior. If all else fails,have your escort confront him. Again,the negative reenforcement of being lessened with a dressing down in front of his peers will discourage repeat performances. The laws of the land are not suspended within the confines of a bdsm club or event. And as far as disclaimers go? It's merely a way for a club owner to try and cover their ass. If push came to shove,most won't hold up in court. One last thing-if the venue allows and encourages this-why are you supporting them with your attendance?

Best wishes D I have a submissive nature, but I am not submissive to every Tom Dick and Harry who claims to be a Dom. I am polite but I don't call anyone Sir or Ma'am unless in a scene and I call only one person Master. If anyone assumed that I'd call them Sir/Ma'am or whatever as a matter of course they would politely be told that although I am a submissive I am not their submissive and refer them to the engagement ring on my left hand [;)]

A general reply to no-one in particular.... I may not have much experience, but I have not found Dominant men or women to be this way at all. There may be some, but I have not met them... maybe I have just been lucky. Almost all of the people I have met whether online or in real life.. have been great.

Firstly, define your idea of "ownership" -- if we use mine, it does not necessary equate to a physical taking of a body. I am owned, though I have not set eyes on the man who owns me for nearly a year now. We were together for two years and I was released due to something I prefer not to go into to. He and I still talk almost every day and, with luck, in the near future I will get to see him again. The fact that I no longer wear his collar does not change the fact that he owns me. Why? as I like to reread some of these older posts that will not die because there's always another opinion to add to it...I'm kinda sitting here in shock that the question somehow got lost in personal comments...I'm just a rebred southern boy here but I think just the tenor of this post examplies the same nature of the conflict plantlady has...you can't force and idea or a presonna down anyones throat...(althought there are things you can...lol)...so IMHO...let me be the Roddey King of the cyber ways and say....can't we all just get along... I believe that sub dosen't equal sheep to all. I ask my Master how my friend and I should have responded. The next Social where the three of us were all there, my Master told him that even though I didn't belong to him yet, this guy had better leave me alone or he'd have to answer to Him. He told this guy he decided to be my protector and if he ever touched me again he would regret it. Being my Master is 6'3 and this guy is 5'8 he didn't argue. My Master also told me in front of him, to not talk to him period ever again, to pretend he didn't exist. This has worked well for me as this guy is at a lot of the events I attend.
