LuckyAlbatross -> Prayers for the Aunt (8/7/2007 9:56:50 PM)

I don't often do this, but I think it's severe enough to merit.

They discovered a large tumor on top of my aunt's brain last week and are operating on it tomorrow.  If you feel you would like to, all positive thoughts and feelings for her would be appreciated.  This is the aunt I lived with in NJ and was owned by her and her husband for a time.

On the good news side of things, I discovered I have extremely high rates of diabetes, cancer, heart attacks and strokes on even MORE of my direct relatives on both sides of my family than I knew before.  I told my mother I was just going to carry the tradition and die at 60 of cancer.

{{{{{{{{{{{L.A.}}}}}}}}}
Thanks for sharing, my prayers go out to you, your Auntie, and your family.
Auntie's are very special people, and she sounds like she is very special to you.
May she pull through this smoothly.

As for you and I young lady?
We are not going to subcomb and die early based on our familial history.

High Blood Pressure and strokes run on both sides of my family.
My grandfather lived to be 96 and damn it I plan to at least make it into my 90s.

That means you must hold on at least until you are well into your 80's.
We will both post on here for at least 50 more years damn it.

Hang in there Lady, and let us know how Auntie is doing.

LA

You are both most certainly in my thoughts. Hold on to the positive thoughts coming your way in the days to come. Be sure to take care of yourself as well as those that you love and hold dear.

nyrisa -> RE: Prayers for the Aunt (8/7/2007 10:40:05 PM)

I wish your aunt, and you, and your family the best. I hope her surgery goes smoothly, and I hope the problem is fixable, and that she recovers comfortably and safely. I wish you all strength and peace to get through the coming times.

Sorry to hear, LA.  I wish you and her and the rest of the family the very best.  Strength and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery.

domiguy -> RE: Prayers for the Aunt (8/8/2007 5:16:04 AM)

I wish your aunt wellness and a speedy recovery.

I was reading in the New England Journal of Medicine that snarkiness can lead to a long and robust life.

mnottertail -> RE: Prayers for the Aunt (8/8/2007 5:22:04 AM)

Well, not all tumors are cancerous. The prognosis ranges from complete recovery to death.

You might recall that George Bush had some polyps(tumors) removed from his colon and he is still a living dick, not much change at all.

You have my thoughts, my good wishes, and lets hope we don't hear the word metastasized.

You, yourself, are too much of a thread puller to give up the ghost.

LA  my thoughts and prayers are with your aunt and you and your family.

I just want you to know i am a brain tumor survivor.  I had three of them removed in 2000.  I have all of me left, everything works as well as it did before.  It does happen.  (hugs)

maybemaybenot -> RE: Prayers for the Aunt (8/8/2007 5:39:55 AM)

My thoughts and well wishes for a positive outcome, LA. I will add your Aunt, you and family to my prayers.

I will add your aunt to my prayers...

I had also thought of adding my father in-law to a post, they found a decent size tumor in his intestines yesterday.  They did a CAT-Scan today and we will meet with a surgeon next week.

If you would all please add him to all of your prayers and thoughts, I would appreciate it very much.
