PROSSER, Wash. - Turns out, even beheaded rattlesnakes can be dangerous.

That’s what 53-year-old Danny Anderson learned as he was feeding his horses Monday night, when a 5-foot rattler slithered onto his central Washington property, about 50 miles southeast of Yakima.

sheesh i learned this when i was like 4 and found a snake in the yard and mom cut its head off.....we sat and watched that head try to bite til the sun went down.......she told us then -dont get near a snakes head, even if its detached from the body-it will bite ya!

but yanno theres something enjoyable of sitting out of reach and watching a head try to bite for hours.......

kids nowadays are so spoiled....all them damn storebought toys and shit....

Not surprising when you think about it.  Where do you think the phrase, "Running around like a chicken with its head cut off." came from?  Because chickens can still run around even after you cut their heads off.  (and it's really  nasty).

uh huh-we used to hide up in a crabapple tree and watch my aunts neighbor do the "west texas twist" version of snappin a chickens head off.....between seeing that and the thorns that poked ya all over in a crabapple tree-its no wonder im nuts.....if we could have only afforded some jump ropes and marbles.....

A dead snake can bite from reflex for up for an hour, im not sure if it can bite more than one time though. There was a case on Venom ER where a guy had shot a snake, and got bit grabbing the head afterwards.

yes but when you're butchering chickens, and cut their feet off, its kinda fun to pull the tendons in the ankle and watch the feet curl in.....

what can i say, we were bored....

kitten, who is still easily amused.

Ai-yi-yi.. pulled my feet up off the floor after reading that one..now why someone with a snake phobia would pull up the thread is probably a valid question at this point -laughs-

entirely too curious for my own good...
