Sorry, Iilia. It was a stab at humor.

A steamer trunk is what folks used to bring on Atlantic crossings. A hatbox is a container, usually round, for (you guessed it) a hat.

I knew what a hatbox was... You had me lost with the steamer trunk.

Thank heaven. Apparently, most people now make their crossings in something called an aeroplane. Sounds dreadfully rushed.

I knew what the steamer trunk was, and I'd prefer to make my transoceanic crossings on a ship. Seems much more civilized that way.

It is horrible dc especially a 30 hour trip to Morocco!  I still have my great grandmother's steamer trunk.

That does sounds grim. I thought 24 hours to New Zealand was the definition of hell.

Hey Red, dc, EG.

EG, 30 hours?  OMG why did you torture yourself?

The class? lol Well, you asked for it.

Well things like how much food/clothing do I pack for a trip I do not know the length of?

Done in the Doc's voice (from "Back to the Future"); "Clothes? Where we are going you don't need clothes!"

quote:

Do I bring cash or hope my debit card will work?

Debit card should work anywhere, though having some cash would be a good idea.

quote:

How much does tupperware cost?

Not a whole lot.

quote:

Do I take a bus or try to take a plane?

Depends which is more important, cost (bus), or time and comfort (airplane).

quote:

Does crunchy peanut butter work in a recipe that calls for peanut butter?

It should, would definitely be an interesting twist.

quote:

If I am supposed to wear heels, does that mean I must also wear a skirt?

Aylee already gave a fine answer for this one.

quote:

What does it feel like to be fed off of by a lover?

Won't know until you find out...

quote:

How much would mailing a box cost if I am sending it out of state?

Same as in state. It is the weight that will be the primary factor in the cost. Call the post office or check online for rates.

quote:

Am I ready (very open and general question here)?

I don't know, are you? Hell, is he ready?

quote:

Am I thinking about the food thing because He spoke about it, or because I really am thinking about it on my own?

Not touching that one.

quote:

If I am thinking on it of my own accord, then what do I do then?

You already know the answer to that

quote:

How much luggage can I pack into a day-bag if I am going for possibly a few days?

As much as will fit. Now how much you should pack? That's a whole 'nother question

Hi oreo sweetheart. What should I do, walk to Morocco? I am also a wheelchair traveller and the last time I went back they all fucked it up. While I walk fine, my nerve damage prevents me from getting to gates on time. I was a sick and horrible mess the night I arrived.

Happily for me, my preferred ship is still afloat, although I did miss her last transAtlantic voyage.

My brother took one of their cruises and loved it, but then he and his family are major Disney fans.

I've thought about saving up for the Queen Mary, though she's a bit ungainly looking.

You know dc, in my mind and for my money you can have just as wonderful service and elegance on many ships. The Queen Mary is not all she's cracked up to be.

You're probably right, EG! I've never taken a ship, actually, aside from across the Channel, which is only a few hours.

If you're crossing a national boundary, you might want to double-check with your bank. I had terrible trouble with ATMs in Paris.
