Good evening all. I just spent the last two hours playing catch-up since I was last on, so I'm sorry if it appeared that I was just lurking. sci... you're renovation project reminded me of a tiling job the boss and I did. The client wanted to convert a small attic space into an upstairs laundry and the state required what is basically a full-fledged shower pan under the laundry equipment. The plumbers had come in and stubbed the supply and drain lines and as the tilesetters, we were responsible for building and completing the shower pan. We thought all had gone well after we completed the job until about a week after when the homeowner frantically called the boss. Water was leaking all over the place into the lower level of their house. We had to tear everything out to find the cause of the leak, since the plumbing was routed between the floor joists, which was necessarily under the shower pan. In the end, the boss had driven a nail through the drain line causing the leak. The plumber replaced the line and the boss and I rebuilt the pan and retiled again. Because the boss ended up eating the cost of the repair and rebuild, neither of us ended up getting paid for the job. So, I feel your frustration. trapped'... re: your hangover... I hope it didn't go too badly for you. I live with one practically everyday (result of my neuro thing), so I understand. To everyone else, I hope you had at least a peaceful weekend.
