As a matter of fact, I did have a good sleep bear.  I was watching the B-J Car Auction under my comforter, yakking to my nephew...next thing I knew, t'was time to get up, hit the shower, shave and get dressed and head to work.

Status: offline 		Ok...I need cooking advice. Im supposed to bring a coverd dish to a reception happening "after" a memorial service. How do I keep it nice and hot and good during the 3 hour drive to the funeral and in the car during the funeral so its still good and ready to go after the funeral?

Use a 9by13by2.5inch glass pyrex pan.  Wrap in foil, and then wrap in towles. 

If you lived in town I would just lend you mine that has its own keep hot bag. 

Alternatively, if the place has an oven, you can bring a casserole and back it during the service. 

Use a crock pot.

Or, you can PLAN on cold fried chicken and take it in a cooler.

I have to go all out no matter what I make though...just cause of who its for and the crowd thats coming...they are gonna expect something a little better than "premade supermarket" stuff. Im thinking about a red velvet cake. Made from scratch and everything. but I also have to think about for after that....because the leftovers from this covered dish are going to be feeding the family left behind for the next week at least.

Status: offline 		make a decadent dessert and how about like a tray of baked ziti or lasagne.. for them to take home.. let them reheat it and eat at their leisure.. So there will be more for them.. like a whole meal instead of leftovers.. sure they would appreciate that
