Status: offline 		If anyone ever doubted my pet was spoiled.... I have a Beta fish. I just finished cleaning a pickle jar for him, took off the label and everything, so that he has a comfy vacation home when he travels to his babysitters for 8 days...
My FISH has a VACATION HOME. AS a joke, eventualy, I might get him a plastic palm tree for it.

*sigh*

Gotta be careful with him hes a 3 1/2 year old Beta... so hes living on borrowed time as is and without someone to feed him his usual foaty foods... he wil starve. He refuses to eat fod cubes for extended feeding and Angel (his usual host) will be out of town the same time we are.

My fish is spoiled.

LOL  good plan though I prefer my men to be nicely aged and have some substance to them! This bear is not a twink chaser!

That was weird. Go off to have lunch, turn on the microwave, and plunge the house into a power outage. Go outside and hear the neighbors asking each other if they have power. It's been an hour or so now and the power's come back on. Tune into a local news station to find out that other parts of the state have had, or still are in a power outage.

Well, in another thread Aylee did try to follow me into the darkness. Who knows what she did while in there. ;-)

I'm thinking that a couple of Arghanians who happen to live in south FL caused this little outage. I think they know who they are. ;-)

Status: offline 		It was contained within FL and is being corrected. We have power; some parts of south FL don't. Last count was about 3 million customers lost power at its peak. Orlando Int'l Airport was in a "ground stop" for outbound flights, but planes are taking off again. Disney World had an outage for about 20 minutes, but only in the hotels and shopping areas; none of the parks, and more importantly, the rides and attractions were affected.

Around my immediate area, the power company has been around to make sure that its equipment was doing OK. There were some minor traffic incidents which is to be expected when traffic lights go out. Many of the lights have battery backups so they switched to a flashing red scenario, which helped out greatly in reducing the accidents.

So far, despite how widely this outage affected the state, there's been nothing too serious developing, with the exception of continual traffic tie-ups and overheated tempers in south FL. ;-)

Status: offline 		Unlike when NYC lost power a few years ago, people, at least around here, are going about their normal lives. Yeah, we lost A/C for about an hour, but it wasn't long enough to cause any problems. While I'm sure there were people stuck in elevators around the state, and maybe still some are, it's no where near the number that were stuck in the north east a few years back.

Besides, after the hurricanes of '04 wiped out much of the state's electrical grid for weeks at a time, we're sort of used to it. Well, as used to it as one can be with the annoyance of losing power for a short time.
