found this too:

Water/salt Mix a teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of quite warm water. Gargle the whole mixture several times a day. This will increase the blood supply to the area by washing away mucus and dilating capillaries, thereby enabling better circulation of infection-fighting antibodies.

and/or

Add the juice of one lemon and one teaspoon of salt to one cup of warm water. Gargle three times a day for one minute.

Cures for a cold?

Here's one that knocked a nasty flu out of my system thanks to a friend of mine, she calls them "ginger bombs." Take a piece of ginger about 1in x 1in, dice, mix with fruit juice and other diced fruits (cantaloupe chunks and frozen rasbperries in strawberry juice works for me) add about 2 tsp of honey. Blend and chug.
