ORIGINAL: Wolfandkitten oh an speaking of stimulus checks........ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH although my taxes were done by jan 15th ...because i dont have direct deposit and my social sucks......ours is sposed to be sent by june 27th.....so much for what i had planned fer mem weekend....oh well at least theres still godsmack and three days grace in july....* smile returns* Perhaps this is one time that direct deposit wasn't a good option? I viewed a story on our local news last evening that the US Gov't. screwed up the account and routing information for many a direct-depositor, resulting in the stimuli being directly deposited into accounts of people who hadn't asked for it. According to the story, one person received $15,000 of unanticipated stimulus directly deposited. Of course, that means that for every dollar that went astray there was an expectant recipient that is quite upset and angry. Two things... those receiving the unexpected bonus do have to repay it back to the US Gov't. The other is... how the frack can that kind of mistake be made? It's either the single biggest cluster-frack ever performed by a good number of individual tax filers or it's the single biggest screw-up of one or two clerical types employed by the US IRS. Either way, this should never have happened in this digital age, which includes (supposedly) checks and balances before all of this gets processed.
