LadyRainfire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 10:55:45 AM)

It would be better if my mother wasn't around. I'm eyeballing that thread called "BDSM nutjobs" going "Who needs BDSM nutjobs when I have my mother?!?""...... Sheesh...... Today's question she asked? "When will you be coming home from Canada?" Ummmmm mom? What part of "I'm moving to Canada and getting married" didn't you understand???

rofl LRF...i'm struggling right now myself with how i'm going to be telling my mother that i'm moving to Maryland in the next 6-9 months or so.  i feel for ya girl.

everhope -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:01:44 AM)

my mother was a certified nut job...meaning spent more time in mental instuitions than anywhere else in life.
cherish your quirky mothers...girls...seriously.
warm smiles..

ResidentSadist -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:03:58 AM)

Could be a new fill in the blank thread "My mom was soooooooo ..."

everhope -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:07:04 AM)

i would have to refrain....no one would even believe what kinds of things my mother was soooooooooo.
too many oooo's in the so when it came to my mother...

LadyRainfire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:09:36 AM)

[>:]  Everhope, there are issues with my mother that run my entire life, starting with the fact that she made no bones about not wanting me when I was a child. She is also currently mad at me because I refused to drive her to a doctor's appointment on Friday this week. Ummmm, hello? That's the day my flight is scheduled to go to Lumus??????? We've been planning this for months, the only thing that will cause me to reschedule now is if the custody case gets butt-ugly with the ex... [8|]

And Christine - YOU GO, GIRL!!! WOooo HOOOO!!!! [:D]  That is so great, Maryland is gorgeous. What part?

Christine...  this made me smile!  What area of MD?  (please be close to me, please be close to me...)  [:)]

christine1 -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:17:25 AM)

Pikesville!   anybody live close to that?  i'm not at all familiar with the geography of the east coast yet rofl!

everhope -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:18:58 AM)

hard stuff...LRF...i am sorry.

when my mother died, i was released from such a painful relationship. has much as she made my life difficult....i made sure she was in good place when she died.....she was my mother afterall. she lived her own torture...which is what made me feel the worst of all it. having a mother who is mentally ill makes one strong in many areas of your life. also gives you many lessons to learn compassion and empathy. so in those ways ...i am blessed to have the mother i had.

christine1 -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:21:10 AM)

aww, everhope and LRF..i'm struggling with something similar with my adoptive parents.

maybe the thread idea should be something more mundane, like "my first experience with pickles was sooooo....

warm smiles...Christine. pickles and first experiences...lol..i don't think i had one other than eating them...always time for a pickle experience! love to see what some of the sadists would come up with for pickle torture...lol

it thrills me when people make that strong connection and merge their lives with each other.
my best for you to have all the bliss possible in your new beginnings, Christine and  LRF also.

some of the stories surrounding my mother are rather hysterical.....maybe i wouldn't refrain from the my mom was soooooooooo...thread if it got started. humor can get us through pretty much anything.

Truer words were never written.  Laughter is my coping mechanism...  without it, I would be lost.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (5/26/2008 11:40:30 AM)

everhope, both of my parents are alcoholics, my dad is dying from it and is in stage 3 alcohol-dementia. Mom is in total denial of her condition though she is going into court-ordered treatment in a few weeks, after spending time in jail for yet another drunk driving conviction. It's part of her problems, and part of our issues. I've tried to move on and do ok though I admit that I do better the further away I am from her. Her behaviour and attitudes continue negative things from the past that I refuse to participate in, which doesn't make for some comfortable conversations. Like this morning.

[:)]  Oh well, I grew up while she didn't.......

Know what I've done to learn (at least on the map so far) the area around Saint Catharines? Bookmark www.maps.google.com and then anytime a place is mentioned, or a business or if you're looking for something like a hair salon, look it up on the map. Look up any town in Maryland or Virginia to see if its near Pikesville, look up anything. I've just been playing around with the map to get an idea and I have a rough of where I'm going already. Now to just get there and orient myself! [:D]
