The weather... um... I'm about to lose a bet so... it SUCKS!

I've been sitting under the fringe all frickin' day long. I'm still sitting under the frickin' fringe. I should be grateful that the winds and rain have decided not to pay a visit (for once) but still... I didn't burn the gas to travel 400 freakin' miles on Sunday and yesterday, to help family around the state harden their properties against the storm, just to have the storm give me the freakin' finger.

Seriously, 2004 was a bad enough year for our area. There are still blue tarps covering some roofs that have yet to be repaired since then. So, we're getting off lucky right now. Not so much, though, for those in Barefoot Bay, which lost 54 houses today... or those in the southern part of the state that are still being pounded by rain since this thing came ashore (now over 12" of rain has fallen in some places). So all in all... I'm sitting pretty dry thanks to a lot of natural luck.

I'm waiting, like everyone else is, for the storm to finally clear out so I can see who needs some help in cleaning and patching up. Doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon though. It'll probably be Friday, at the earliest, before Fay disappears.

Any of you FL CMers that need some extra hands to help clean things up, let me know.

Ah.. I've never heard that terminology used before. If you could have any furnature that you wanted what would it be, what would it be made of, and why would you want it?



I'd have most of my furniture made in wood, probably either in teak or ebony. I am drawn towards the rustic look of wood and if it's not overly finished then it has that primal feel to that look which I find appealing.

Today, and for the next few days, I live under the fringe of Fay. After she departs ... if she departs ... I live in southern Lake County.

Kindness has nothing to do with it. I'm all about destroying things. I like tearing things apart... breaking them down until they are nothing but refuse. Normally I get into trouble if I practice my craft, often times serious trouble. However, my skills come in quite handy in the aftermath of storms, when people need to tear damaged things from their homes to make way for their repairs.

Just think of me as Stitch wearing a hardhat and work gloves. >:-)
