Status: offline 		Okay!  WTF?  I had to take Butterhead to the doctor today.  Her face was swollen.  Then she had to go get her blood drawn, for get this, a Mumps Titer (sp?). 

Who the hell gets mumps anymore?  Yes, she has had her first MMR, and is supposed to be getting her second on Oct 1st.  But seriously, Mumps?  I thought that was pretty much eradicated. 

WTF?

Status: offline 		No, mumps aren't eradicated. There were a few cases of mumps about a year or so ago here in Florida, IIRC.

Status: offline 		I think the average is about 265 cases a year in the US.  Except in 2006 when there were all those outbreaks on the college campuses (Yep, KU had some of those). 

So that is less than 1 case per million people in the US.  I would call that pretty much eradicated.

Status: offline 		I do not think that it is mumps.  I am more worried that it is an infection.  I can give her motrin in an hour an a half.  Maybe that will help with the swelling.  It does not look as bad tonight as it did this morning when I woke her up.

Status: offline 		We are going to Orlando this weekend. Fox is meeting my parents, and we are going to disney world on saturday, universal on sunday and then meeting GT and Tulip sunday night. THEN we are going to have dinner with the disney characters on monday, then drive home tuesday
