but seriously, take some sort of OTC pain relief (tylenol, aleve, motrin, whatever you prefer) drink something hot (like tea) & get some throat lozenges... not much you can do for a sore throat except ride it out & pray it isn't strep. If you start to notice sniffles then move to meds that can help that. Alkaseltzer cold relief works pretty good & won't give you that drugged-fat-head feeling a lot of meds give

Status: offline 		Here's what I do for sore throats etc.
Make an infusion of 4 cups hot water to
one whole lemon sliced,
4-6 inch sprigs of fresh mint,
1/2 cup honey (or more if you like),
sliced fresh ginger root (4in+ long and big around as a quarter+ - slice lengthwise 1/4 inch thick), and finally
for numbing add 12+ clove buds (not ground)

Steep all solids for about 5 minutes in boiling hot water and comence drinking.  Drink at least 2 batches a day.

Status: offline 		It is good and has all the peices that help.  A lot of work? not so much.  The hardest part is getting all the ingredients together.  You just slice the ginger and lemon and dump everything in the hot water and voila. 

A San Fran naturopath introduced me to it and it has been a useful one.
