Status: offline 		Its more exciting then whats going here. The road resurfacing is postponed until tomorrow because of weather. Well it is supposed to rain tomorrow so yeah. I has been raining pretty much everyday since last Friday. I need some sun. Ugh

Status: offline 		I dont know if I would consider myself to be living in the "deep south" strange as it may seem, I think you have to go farther north anymore to really find "deep south" culture these days. But I do have an old timey neighborhood. Kinda rare anymore it seems...but I love living here. Especially on days like today...gads

Well I had to since I remembered a while back we briefly talked about the artifacts you collect! And being a rock collector myself, my curiosity was stirred and had no choice but to see what neat and cool things you had! I hope you know how envious I am over that  LOL. Guess that means I am going to have to add to my list of places to visit and things to do while I'm there! I like the website and found it was easy to navigate. I did find the Mississipian/Late link gave me a 404 Not Found messge.

Status: offline 		ooh...ok..thanks for that info, Ill have to do some checking into that. The stuff on the website is a very miniscule portion of what is in my house. In fact most of what is on that site is things I have agreed to sell on consignment for other people...although I do get a percentage of what gets made....

At the end of this month we are heading up to Savannah georgia for an Artifact Show..I am hoping we do well there. We are gonna try and sell some of the lower grade stuff we have, and if we do well we are gonna be able to buy the rest of my kitchen appliances. It will be so nice to have a stove and oven...and a refirgerator that isnt on the front porch....

grins..my Sir would love to take you out hunting. They went out this last sunday for most of the day. Its great now that the weather has cooled off. Ok...nothing near your cooler weather, but isnt quite in the 90s all day...makes digging in the sun a bit more bearable...grins...

Status: offline 		Sounds like your Sir and I would get along great! Though I'm not that well versed on artifacts and fossils as I've stayed to collecting minerals and crystals. Either area I still find fascinating and been collecting rocks for the past 40 years and will be 47 next month! The bulk of my collection I gave to my one niece who is a budding rockhound and I encourage her every chance I get, much to the dismay of my brother in law.   *weg*

edited to add: I'll bring  my chisel, tweezers, loupe and rock hammer!

Status: offline 		we used to do this in the swamps around the area i lived in in mississippi. i used to have more fun doing that with some of the guys from the department. used to find all kinds of cool stuff most of it low quality though and broken up

Status: offline 		OUCH, that was absolutely tragic. I've kept about 1/4 of my original collection, my neice acquired about 40 lbs worth of rocks, minerals and crystals. This is perfect as I can start over agin and mainly focus on the more unusual and less common pieces. My favorite is a pyrite sun which is 3.5" in diameter.

Status: offline 		yea...a pretty large percentage of what we find is broken, but my Sir has this uncanny knack of knowing exactly where to dig to find something amazing. He has a huge collection, most of the good stuff he keeps for his personal collection and we only sell the lower grade stuff. He probably wouldnt sell that except I tend to get grumpy when I cant get into my bedroom because of the number of rocks scattered around....Its halfway illegal anymore, the state has gotten so bloody picky about where you can and cant pick up artifacts. God forbid you go onto state land and pick up a rock...but its ok for them to haul bulldozers in there and smash it all to bits....its illegal to pick things up in the rivers now too.....
