ORIGINAL: Kalista07 Um... I should probably tell you I'm not an overly huge fan of that frelling dancing fruit. Just thought you'd want to know, in case it matters. For most here, it doesn't. quote:
ORIGINAL: Kalista07 YEAH!!! i'm an Arghonaut....That's got to be getting me closer and closer than those damned pictures are to being a arghonian..heh... Eventually, the peer pressure will be great and you'll either openly defy and be proud, or submit and be proud. I wish you well with your argument, and however it turns out, you'll at least be an Arghonaut in my mind. :-) quote:
ORIGINAL: Kalista07 sappa!!?? Shut up!!?? Seriously? You lived in the quad cities huh? heh.....i used to live on Moline...Right off of 23rd avenue (which i'm apparently a rebel because i refuse to use it's correct name :Avenue of the cities) and 25th street...so not that far away from you.... :D I'm not sure that avenue had a name when I lived there. It was simply called 23rd Ave. The house I used to live in was an old farm house that had been moved onto the corner. I remember 19th street being made of brick pavers going all the way downtown to nearly the river front. And going down the other side, towards Coal Valley, it was asphalt. I used to attend Logan Elementary School in the area, and though I think I see the building still standing on Google Earth, I'm not sure if it's still a school or not. The year was about 1968... Well, the house was burned down to make way for the I-74 interchange with 23rd Ave... I mean, "Avenue of the Cities". We moved down to a subdivision called "Heritage" back then, where I attended Butterworth Elementary for another three years. That was before Coaltown Road was the multilane road that it is today. It was all good times there, even when the annual spring floods came making life a hassle. :-) quote:
ORIGINAL: Kalista07 Now, i live in davenport.....the iowa side of the Quad.....Trying to sell my house in moline..... I wish you luck with your house. :-) The only thing I remember about Davenport is that it was the city we passed through to get to a butcher house. My parents would join in with a neighbor, buy up half a cow, have the meat cut to their specification, and delivered to our freezer. Oh, and the baseball stadium that would also flood out during the spring. :-) quote:
ORIGINAL: Kalista07 How'd You escape here??? Kali To be honest, back then I didn't think of it as an escape. It was more of being forcibly removed. ;-) My father got a job out of state, so in 1971, we moved. We went back a couple of times to visit with friends, but that stopped as they eventually moved out too.
