shyinini -> old threads ~ TOS ~ bumping ~ new counsel (8/17/2007 6:59:16 AM)

I just read this ..............

I was reading links on a subject ( TY Lucky Albatross) and read this thread.

I know I may be insane - but does anyone else see a difference in attitude even from just 3 years ago?

edi: oops thread is locked. Sorry to bump. Good subject though?

I know we are all encouraged to find old threads before we repost concerns and questions ...

but the topic I found this on is one that seems to be a reoccuring theme amoung us submissives.  Infact, I found myself identifying with this old thread.

So I am wondering why in heavens name if bumping an old thread is so against the TOS, why it is that we cant post on old threads if they are a concern, thoughtful...etc...
and yet are told its a no-no and at the same time, we are told to look at  old threads before we post some issue, concern that has been posted before ... like 2 years ago.

I hope I explained this right.

If I took this old thread and rewrote it, cause it echos me right today and in the last 3 days... I'd be told look here and given a zillion links, or be responded to, but more likely the afore mentioned.

There are new people with insights on CM now, different than 2 years ago.  Why cant we be tapped into their "counsel"rather than be admonished to read old threads and then are told its against TOS to bump them with more questions?

Just wondering...curious....  if I am allowed to be curious.

Because posting on an old thread WILL bump it.

It's best to take the idea and quote from an old thread and repost into a new one.

Mods are ok with an occasional bump, but it's been slightly epidemic lately so they will push down hard.

And yes, you'll be given a lot of links- AND you'll be given a lot of good current responses also.

I've noticed of late that a lot of the threads brought back to life are pretty dumb ones. I don't mind thoughtful informative ones brought back, but when they are just mindless chatter or goofy 'what if' scenarios then I get a bit annoyed. (example being 2 fat threads that were brought back from the grave, don't we have enough of those already? yikes)
