Take a look at your hardware and any crappy programs you have installed (especially kids programs). Home and XP are the exact same until you hit networking.. Placebo effect. It is always easier to blame it on Microsoft than it is to take the responsibility for yourself. OK, I've looked they both have the exact same programs on them. With the exception of the XP pro computer has a whole lot more programs. No kids programs. Did I forget to mention these kids are 20 year's old? Oh, I guess I forgot to mention I have a very good friend who worked on XP for Microsoft in Seattle and he has told me there are serious issues with XP home? Oh wait, thats the placebo affect though isn't it? Maybe he is a mirage? Oh, maybe I also forgot to mention I used to be in the same business you are so I know a wee little about comptuers. Now, as I've stated at least 3 to 4 times now. It is personal preference. Either accept the fact I have an opinion or do not. I am entitled. Yeah well the same techs like you said there was serious problems with Me and it simply turned out you had no idea what you were doing. (I worked on and sold over 100 Me machines without even a glitch, so what does that tell you?) It is most likely the hardware on your system, then. Home has been tested on a bazillion systems, so if there was problems like you are trying to falsely convince Me of, they would have shown up. However, 98 times out of 100 the hardware is to blame. People like you think they know what they are doing, put together a shitty rig and then blame Microsoft for the problems. It happens all the time. I see it on an ongoing basis. Typically it is an AMD rig causing the problem because they did not know what they were doing and did not build it according to AMD specifications. Either that or they used low end parts. That is why I only use high end brand name parts when I configure computers... So I am not sitting there trying to pretend like I know what I am talking about by blaming Microsoft and pretending I have friends to back Me up (which is completely useless and impossible to validate on a message board). you are going to have to come up with better than that. Look for configuration errors, look for low-end hardware. I will bet you 50 dollars you are using a 10 dollar power supply and expecting miracles. I would not be the least bit surprised if you are using an all-in-one piece of shit mainboard and expecting it to perform like a top end solution. you were, after all, touting the virtues of a POS $299 Dell solution.l quote:
Well you can buy a new Dell for 299.00 now, monitor and all. With a warranty. Can't build a new pc cheaper than that. I know I build them. At least not the type I happen to like. Good luck it is simple enough. The fact that it sounds like you build piece of shit computers says everything about the merit one can place on your statements about the quality of Windows. Garbage in, garbage out. you get what you pay for, it is just that you can't admit it. you feel it is better to place the responsibility squarely on Microsofts shoulder so you can make yourself feel better about yourself and your shitty builds. I have been building and servicing computers since 1994, and working on them since 1986, and My experiences do not mirror yours. your opinion. you are right. That is all it is. I prefer something with a basis in fact however.
