i came here at a nadir of my social life, and the introspection for composing a profile - something i've never done before - made me contemplate much more of myself than i'd ever imagined.
aside from the realization that i only found true satisfaction in relationships with a bit of an edge -- it occured to me that the first girl i ever picked up online was a vanilla girl i chose to characterize as a most provocative dominatrix who turned out an innocent but eagerly submissive young vixen (in the days before the web, in the bygone dinosaur days of bulletin boards and college network instant messaging).

b.com and c.com became a balancing point, the forums offered humor, odd word games, a wealth of informative writings and a channel to recognize a part of myself, a place to be my Grey J-self - a side of myself so often forgotten - and i found the balance to restore an ordinary dating life. it also made me feel young and seriously adventurous again and understanding of this aspect of myself allows me to express it, and integrate it more coherently in my romantic life.

the whole Online thing feels so clumsy to me. and though some enjoy the way i write and i have realized relationships from it, i'm just better in person. i dont know if b.com or c.com will ever result in meeting anyone but online correspondence is often intriguing, profiles are interesting and fill idle moments with humanity, the knowledge base is informative, and the forums are fun.
