ORIGINAL: RRafe You guys might also consider just leaving a topic alone if it offends you so much. What you are witnessing is the "whatever Bob says must be wrong" syndrome. Get used to it, amongst the obsessed it is their favourite pastime. I know. It's always fun to feel better about yourself by tearing others down. Very mature. I've seen this on every board I've participated on. It is inevitable those prone to obsessive-compulsive behaviour will pick me as a target. <shrug> If you've seen this on every board then have you ever considered that it's you and not everyone else that has a communication problem. In the past I have, but I stopped worrying about that some time ago. Too many sane/stable types who write me privately so as not to make themselves targets of the obsessive-compulsive crowd. And just too much evidence of the irrational vitriol spewed by the obsessive-compulsive crowd. I mean, trying to compare me with that guy in "Silence of the Lambs" is an excellent example of what I mean, Aileen. Just as asking me to put you on block, after telling me I'm a "coward" to use it, only to ask a question of me after you've asked me to block you ... classic for the obsessive-compulsive types. Arguing for the One True (Selfish) Way because I've presented an essay on selflessness, another excellent example of how deep into tunnel-vision the obsessive-compulsive crowd has fallen, blind to the fact that many others in bdsm consider themselves selfless, or that selflessness is a desirable quality. Then comes the furious back-peddling as they realize (thanks to me pointing it out) that they've not targetted me, but a group of valid bdsmers of which I am one. Eventually, as ths kind of silliness wears on their reputations, they very loudly proclaim they are not going to respond to me, a silence that never lasts. And thus the cycle of obsessive-complusion continues. The only new feature to this all-too-familiar cycle is the block button, which I find rather useful. Nothing like the obsessive-complusive parading their lack of self-control and need to publicly indulge in non-consensual verbal abuse solely for the audience, yet never getting through the block to me. That's why I have very little respect for bdsm 'communities', as they attract the obsessive-compulsives like honey draws flies.
