As a Dominant, and a man, it is my responsibility to take care of the women and children in my life. Then again, my interpretation of the question may not be correct as it is incredibly vague... either way, my submissive has placed herself in my care because she believes in me. That trust is why she gives me everything that she is....

Interesting question. The answer? I don't know. Maybe. it depends on the issue and circumstances. The question is is it's needs vs wants or needs vs needs? And that is where the answer becomes so very unclear to me.

Some sacrifice has to be made for any relationship to truely work. After all, I didn't have my sub collared and married to me so she'll be miserable for the rest of her life.

Our current pregnancy has had her needs bare more importance on the things I'm currently wanting to do and buy.

Well, I can only suppose that with most male Dominants, if it were in a physical protective posture (and seeing as how they assume the safety of the submissive)they would put the submissive first in that context.If it came to the want column, the last cup of coffee, or the hot water for the shower..one can mostly presume that he will put himself first.And if it comes to positioning of the submissive, just for the sake of a certain position..then it will be how and where he wants that submissive positioned...Hopefully this covered all possible contexts of the question put forth...Tempting

That might be true for some, but I wouldn't want to give up an opportunity to shower with my slave, nor would I refuse the opportunity of giving her sips of tea from my tea cup.

Well, in light of her safety and protection, hell yes. I usually tell my sub if something happens on the street, she is to run and keep running until the gunfire stops, then to dial 911. For her safety and protection, yes, I put her before me. For her health, yes. I cum first though and she'll catch up when I decide she can :D
