An ancient Indian story talks about a married couple intent on finding “truth”. They meditate in separate quarters for the better part of the day, months at a time. One evening over dinner, the husband inquires to the wife, “who do you love the most?” This question stopped the wife from eating as she pondered its answer. Finally, she states, “I love myself the most”. The husband, satisfied with her answer continues his dinner.
