you know i always hear this age does not matter thing. But it does. Again what would someone of 50 have with someone that is 21 or 20 or 25O I doubt anything. None of them have kids that have gone through collage. or paid off their mortgage or even a degree in certain areas.. Let alone face serious illness or done other things.. it is about right of passage it is a natural order of things.

I'd take that back considering that the highest rate of infection for hepititis and HIV are for the crowds between 16-25. And being ill or having children has nothing to do with BDSM.

Agreed, I am not always the most empathetic person, depends on the people involved and the situation.

I think that, in fact, the older I have gotten the colder I have gotten. Not much gets to me anymore. Sure, I have my buttons but they involve people that I love deeply. Those are few and far between.

I am probably going to be more saddened by an abused animal than an aquaintance standing in front of me crying because their favourite grandfather died. In fact I know I will be because that scenario happened this week. Yet I know others, of various ages, a woman that is 50, one that is 48 and another that is 23, that were all brought to tears by it. Just don't ask me to hear a child abuse story or watch that godawful animal cop show on animal planet.

Again, age in years has nothing to do with it.

It's not lack of care, that's malicious and overdone.

Because I remember thinking about it long and hard. I asked a friend, whose skill with the singletail is heavily respected, probably the only dude I'd let whip me - hey...how WOULD I slice someone open really bad, so I know how not to do that?

He thought about it for a moment. He said "well, you'd really have to go at it pretty Indiana Jones, and you'd have to crack it exactly ON them."

So yes, you can open someone up bad.

But you have to be either trying really hard or really unlucky, and the latter has the odds against.

I hate burst anybody's bubbles...but there's no way that anyone is gonna get a cut bad enough from a singletail that will caus a trip to the emergency room unless they hit themselves in the eye because they don't know about follow through when throwing it. Trust me. I know a few sick fucks who've tried...the target areas were the nipples and inner thighs...and yeah they cut the bitch but all she really needed was a band-aid.

Also, scars are not indication of "bad" play. I bear mine proudly. So indicating there was or is a scar shows nothing.

i am not going to disrespect people who have lost loved ones and tell them i understand how they feel that is very stupid to assume. to look at a mother or father who lost a son or daughter in a war or do to some act of violence no way could anyone understand that type of pain. Or people that are tortured for being a political prisoner of some third world country. You assume to much that is the difference between younger and older people

bull whips are no different from any other type of singletail...bullwhips are distinguished by their handles...just signal whips and snake whips

And YOU assume that just because I am young I understand nothing.

It's stupid to assume that because a person hasn't gone through a specific tragedy they don't know how another person going through that tragedy is feeling.

I am still not understanding how you can be so close minded as to assume that nobody would understand the emotions of someone going through a tragedy. Why can't they? Why can't someone be able to empathize with another person?

then it's not from the whip...it's likely from something picked up in the air....I promise. I've seen men and women alike throw whips up to 25 feet in lentgh (outside mind you) and hit someone and said bottom did not need stiches.

His words were something to the effect of "pretty damn impossible"

And we had this conversation in hushed tones. Because we were breaking the secret mystique of the Very Dangerous Toy. The one that you aren't going to kill anyone with if you respect the fundamentals that it is: 1. a cutting edge, yes, potentially and 2. hard to control, so you should control it before you use it on a person, reasonably.

Not "never use this on a person unless you can snuff a candle" (in which case I think most people would find your touch a little heavy) Not "thou shalt use this for five years before touching anyone with it!" Just - be aware, and practise some. Common sense.

GrlwithBoy thank you. That would be my point. That "breaking the mystiques/myths" part is the first part of my singletail class. And personally I think it's the most important part. The whole cutting thing is like the wrapping thing...they told people not to wrap a bottom with a whip because it would hurt the whip more than the bottom and when you're paying hundreds for a good whip why would you do that? People heal...toys don't

Do I have this straight? You can't seriously cut someone with a whip? If you wrap a whip it will damage the whip more than the bottom? And people heal, toys don't?

No. That is not what I am saying.

Assuming you are not wrapping, have paid some attention, can hit a targeted area on a cloth and see the nap and understand how much pressure your tip is exerting, and are not taking out your eye or someone elses's - you will need to go out of your way forcefully to cut someone with your whip. It's possible to do it accidentally - if you can do the above though, you have reasonably reduced your chances of doing so enough to PROBABLY be OK to play with a human.

That is what I am saying.

And it takes some people a few hours to get to that point. Not weeks and years.

I'm not claiming to be one of them. I took a couple of months of fairly regular practise to feel comfortable. But I knew a lot of people who were very reticent to even try because of so much mystique building and talismanic woo woo. It's one thing to be safe. It's another to create magic elites.

So then if I told you that I have seen people laid open badly enough that they required stitches....you would say that I have witnessed the impossible?
