ORIGINAL: kisshou earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, etc don't kill....people just die during the course of the event. Well, yes. God created Nature and stepped back, giving man stewardship of the Earth. Hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes etc are simply natural processes. It is our responsibility as humans to learn about them, minimize their danger and maximize our relief efforts. The phrase "Acts of God" has legal meaning, but its inconsistent with Christianity (as I understand it) to attribute natural disasters to God's will. I know that some folks, such as Pat Robertson, like to claim disasters as God's punishment but I think this is both silly and irreligious. Natural disasters are simply natural processes. If the commandment to not commit murder has any application to these cases, it is that humans should not allow people to die and suffer through indifference.
