BandE -> Removeable Dancer Pole (9/8/2007 5:55:47 PM)

My partner has expressed some interest in trying one of the pole dancing exercise programs.  I always want to support the things she does but we cant have a permanent pole anywhere in our small home.  Does anyone any experience with a removable type pole?  I see them on the net from $150.00 to $500.00 but I can only find 3 reviews 2 sounding to good to be true and one sounding to bad to be true.  I would like to find one that is really strong and safe for her to dance and be able swing on and of course if it's that stable I maybe able to come up with lots of other uses.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

you can get poles that work for like 22-35 bucks at Home depot, or Lowes or Fleet or whatever is your little builder there.  they got screws to fasten them, as in screw jacks-----------------a simple street sign will hold you (and I am a big boy) at a 90 degree angle to the ground.  Them poles hold 20 ton or so apiece.

So even if she is a fat girl, the pole for 22 bucks will hold her, and you can take it down when the kids are watching captain kangaroo.

Really,
Ron

FastReply:   I was basically going to concur with Ron, that spending 200-500 on a stripper pole was CRAZY.  And I do concur, but I thought "Hey, maybe I should do a bit of 'net research first."   And I did.  And I got sidetracked.  And I found THIS.

WHO KNEW?   Sometimes I am amazed what a sheltered life I must lead.  51 years...and I'd never seen a "wake pole".

I've got a feeling you could use a little smile,
Hoping you could stay there for just a little while
Making a lot of noise up there, throw your hands up in the air

OMG. i was just asking Master to place one in the basement which He's about to remodel for very personal use. i've looked at a free dancing site that shows the basic moves and i cant wait to start(.oh yeah... He said He would install one.)
i wonder what the helpful people at home depo would say if this project was brought up to them.....
might just have to find out.

I see Murphy's Law in play here. "Anything that can be removed will be and at the worst possible moment." Okay, so I modified it a bit to fit the situation. I think anything that is intended to support a gyrating human should be affixed as permanently as possible.

Also the finish of the pole is going to be critical if you are putting bare flesh in motion against it. You definitely don't want a galvanized iron pipe from Home Depot in this case. You need a well finished and polished chrome or brass plated pole and not some cheap plating but high quality stuff that won't corrode from sweat salts. The key here is smooth, strong, and durable. If you can't meet those requirements for now then just wait on it till you can.

As to that wake pole, I notice they have no action shots. I wonder how many have inadvertently ended up in the water?

A guy goes to his highschool reunion and runs into an old pal.

His pal is now a fireman.  He says 'that is awesome, any advice for me, my son wants to be a fireman?"

Pal says "sure, get a pole and let him practice sliding down it to the basement"

Years later, he runs into his fireman buddy. Fireman asks "Did your son ever become a fireman btw??"

He said 'Ummm no, but my daughter is now a f*cking stripper!'

If Scott Peterson had a wake pole in his boat...He might still be a free man.

favesclava -> RE: Removeable Dancer Pole (9/13/2007 1:08:17 PM)

home depo doesnt have plated pipes? the kind for handrails? the pole in my case will be permanently secured. Master is very intelligent and knows how to research in order to do things right and safe. some people state the obvious and cant take a joke.
by the way the HD thing was a joke. He can find it cheaper better quality at *********.
