We may not all agree on how September 11, 2001 should be remembered but let us not forget those who did lose loved ones not only that day but since.

September 11, 2007

Let us all take a moment on this, the 6th anniversary of the day our nation stood still.... Today Lets us pry for the family's who lost someone that day and for the family's who have lost loved ones sense that day in the war on terrorism and those who violated our nation that day.  That day they did not only attack us they attacked the world for in the world tread centers there where members of countries from around the world and in doing as they did they showed there disregard for life and humanity.
How soon we have forgotten September 11, 2001.  I for one am saddened to see the protests around our nation about the war in Iraq.... So soon we as Americans forget why we are in this war overseas... How soon we forget how much terrorism has cost mankind here and around the world. This war is about more then one man or one nation it is about a group of religious zealots who say they fight to honor there God. The middle east is a hot bed for terrorist, a few hotheads who give the good people of the middle east a bad name. Let us not hate the many because of the few... More importantly Let us also not forget and support our troops and there family's. It is sad when a solder die however it is much sadder that we as Americans forget that FREEDOM is not free and never has been. Our solders knew the risks when they signed up... Lets support them and thank them for doing a job many of us would never have the guts to do..... I take my hat off to them and there family's and say thank you from Me and My daughter for doing what you are to make sure terrorists never get a strong foot hold again as they ones had.
No words can express my true feelings or could ever be enough....  So let me say ones again I salute our troops and give my heat felt thanks to all of you... You make us most of us very very proud.....

On this September 11th My heart has healed in many ways... You see, I was brokenhearted when the attack happened (as much of this country was), and every anniversary since I spend the day blue and sad. I find Myself taking stock of our country, and am often more sad by the lack of progress we've made.

Late on September 10th, after almost three days of watching and waiting with My Son and daughter in law in our local maternity ward, the doctor decided to do a C-section. My only hope had been to have a happy healthy delivery and for everyone to be safe - but right then, at 11:15 something changed. Suddenly it became very important to the whole family for him to be born before midnight. I was just the opposite, I wanted him to be born on the 11th desperately...

Isaac arrived at 12:26a.m. and as the fifteen people in our family crowded around the nursery window I asked to be heard:

"I stated that for six years, this date had been a very bad one... that I was solemn and sometimes hopeless on this date. But from this day forward, I would also carry joy and thankfulness in My heart too... That I can no longer look at an entire day with grief because it was time for us to heal and begin anew."

Every eye was filled with tears as we all realized that for our family, the day was transformed... we hugged and smiled and turned back to welcome him without the stigma or label "day of destruction" on him. He will be told that his birthday is special because an entire nation lost hope and he (among others) will be the ones to give it back to us.

By the way, My son is a firefighter, and he had secretly been hoping for the 11th as Isaac's birthdate. "Isaac" means "Son of Promise" and My family will strive to begin again in the shadow of 9-11-01 by bringing this child up with love for his family, country, and history.

You don't have to be miserable to show respect for tragedy... and being happy doesn't mean we are disrespecting those we lost. I don't think they'd want us to stop living just because they did....

Great, let's get start here at ground zero by savagely curtailing the political power of the Christians and Jews.

Speaking of "religious zealots who say they fight to honor there God" (sic) I found this in the Book of Joshua in the Bible:

---

6:21
And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.

...

10:30
And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

10:31
And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:

10:32
And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

10:33
Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.

10:34
And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:

10:35
And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

10:36
And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:

10:37
And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.

10:38
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:

10:39
And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.

10:40
So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.

10:41
And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.

10:42
And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

10:43
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.

As our own culture has many members that worship this original myth of genocide as if it were the "word of God" I find some of your comments suspicious. Glass houses and all...

How about we just get the hell out of other countries and leave them to their own devices?

We need to work toward peace and prosperity at home. I mean, you know - something that might be of value to average Americans.

*sighs*  i have read your opinion ...now here's mine.

Sept 11 is just another ordinary day to me.  it's not my obligation every year to stop and mourn the lost of thousands over a ill-devised and plan tragedy from within. i don't support the troops (that includes my military father) or this "war" ...however i do part and protest every chance i get.

oh for a bit of CIA history please remember the US govt put Saddam into power funding his regime back in the 80s as well as many other psuedo-terrorist groups around the world. US, France, Russia, China, and UK - all members of the UN Security Council and all guilty of funding terrorists to support or change foreign policy to their advantage.

free your minds, people!

And to add, they also trained Osama - go figure huh?
And on the whole 'religious' front - do people fail to remember that Bush also brought God into this from a christian standpoint.

I did enjoy your obviously heart felt thoughts and feel your post is genuine and from inside.  The day was a terrible one, but no different to the thousands of deaths that occur all over the world.

Peace
