I booked a flight to Alexandria luisianna for my brother's wedding, so now begings the oftenfruitless agrivating and most definatly expensive effort to find something plus size, but pretty to me, outfit to wear to his wedding.

I hate clothes shopping, there's never really anything Ilike in prices I'd pay, the clothing, all though plus size never quite fits right, it's either to tight in the boobs and shoulders, or to big in the waist, looking very sack like.

Last time i went clothing shopping I didn't find one single thing that was cute or pleasing to me, I walked out of the store after an hour in a disgusted huff, and i was angry at the wasted time and effort.

I understand that being plus size makes clothing more expensive, but jesus, 200 bucks for ONE skirt alone, no fucking way. It's bad enough dresses are like 150 or more.

I repeat again, oy vey!

Just resign yourself to the fact that you will pay that much.
Nordstroms has some nice plus size dresses.

I was looking for a dress to wear at a wedding in 2008.  I found this, if you like mystically type clothing.........It was in a  wicca catalog (link below).  Also, is this a morning, afternoon, or evening wedding?  Outdoors?

Also, next week Oprah is introducing a Vera Wang line of very affordable and multiple sized clothes.   You might want to check out the show or look it up on Oprah's website.

I found this dress for $89.99  PRODUCT CLOSEUP  <--this is what I like but below has many, many different styles albeit most are customes that would work into to play wear.  You might find something there--good luck!

Aileen, first thanks for the link, never thought of nordstroms,

yeah, I am pretty much resgned, thing is most expensive clothing is shoddy in workmanship, I bought a lovely embroidered dress, and in a week's worth of time the embroidery was coming un stitched, I bought a really cute t shirt with buttons on it, they were sewn on in such a shitty careless manner the buttons came loose the first washing.

A pair of brand new panties had a seam busted in them the first time ever wearing them cause the stitching was loose.

Quality I'd pay for, and only grumble a little, I haven't been finding quality.

Thank you UR2BAdored, the dress is very pretty, I'm bigger than a large though, and I am anti online clothes shopping lol, drives my mom nuts,  she wants me to buy clothing from willow creek and stuff but I am adament I HAVE to, try it on see how it looks on me before I buy it lol.

My general sizes are 3 to 4 x in dresses, size 30 to 34 in  pants and skirts, and tops I'm a 30/34 and even with that size tops tend to squeeze me on my arms and around breasts and shoulders.

I might actually have an apropriate skirt, It's a size 32, last time I tried it on it was to small and tight in the hips when I sat down, I must of lost some weight cause it's actually a tad big in the waist. Pair it with a nice top and I may have lucked out super cheap.

Too bad you're opposed to online shopping, ebay has some stores with great buys for plus size women.  You can ask for measurements and many of the sellers do exchanges.

Don't bother with Nordstroms. Their idea of a 3x is a 22/24 and that is the highest their sizes go..

You're in Cali also.. have you tried Torrid? http://community.torrid.com/customer_service/store_locator.asp I've found some great things there, including the corset in my photo over there on the left. (I am a 26/28)

BeachMystress I have noticed nordstroms idea of plus size ended at a size 22 lol. I have also noticed they lable size 14's and `16's as plus size, which in my opinion is bullshit. I will check them out,

Rosa thanks for the links I'll look at them:)
