This came from another website in regards to this very item. Hope this helps: "Torture Pears are a rare and most likely nonexistent item in this age. They were such obscure objects from the Inquisition period that I was surprised to see your request. The simplest modern near-equivalent would be a medical speculum used for vaginal examinations. Such items are essentially the same expanding wedge design but with the mechanics moved to the outer edge of the tool to permit viewing and instrument insertion through the opening. There are many sources of medical instruments on the web and as such you can find multiple styles, sizes, and prices. If you are looking for a Torture Pear, like this image from The Medieval Torture Museum in San Gimignano, Italy, then you are probably left with finding a blacksmith or metal worker who creates such reproductions. A critical part of the original design is the damaging spike located at the ends of the petals. This item was designed to cause serious harm to the point of permanently damaging the mouth, anus, or vagina of the offending deviant. It is a torture device, not a play item." And IMHO------eeeeeeWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! I can smell a lawsuit waiting to happen.
