ORIGINAL: Lawrence111 I would add that as submissives can become endorphin-junkies, dominants can become serotonin-junkies (there are other chemicals including testosterone, but the names escape me now). These are *some* of chemicals that are released in the body during play (see Molly Devon who has done some research on this, presentation at Living In Leather, Ct. Lauderdale, circa 1998) , and give the user certain sensations. At their normal levels, they hardly make a difference, but when the levels are high... they produce all kids of pleasant sensations. Hey Lawrence, I almost wrote about this in the Subspace thread in the general BDSM section. I certainly go into some sort of chemically altered state when I play. It doesn't even have to be physical play for me. It starts with what I call my "dom tingle", which is this "charge" in my lower stomach. It progresses to subtle mental buzz, much like what you would feel after taking a first shot of alcohol. My lips then get kind of tingly. I almost never become erect when I am in this space, but it is a very sexual experience for me. Perhaps that is too much information, but I have wondered if others have shared such experiences... Yours, Taggard
