Status: offline 		Actually that statement does not shock me so much, simply because people with a straightface used to tell me how in their countries there were no homosexuals and prostitutes...and that is simply because it is way underground, extremely secretive, but there nevertheless. I had friends from Saudi Arabia and Qatar who used to tell me what Ahmadinejad said today, how their countries were great and rich, and that there were no prostitution and homosexuality LOL. What I find silly is that he says this in a forum....this leader is very ideologically based, he could have spent the time in Columbia talking more about the future of this country, his plans, reform, what not to reform, etc. I wish he would overthrow those bearded idiots, the Ayatollahs who have brought that country some 50 years backwards

Status: offline 		Well, its not all bad in Iran - we transsexuals get surgery with no problem apparently.

Mind you, when we're leaving hospital in our own car they likely then arrest us and hang us for not having a male escort whilst out on the street.

I guess the only real difference between Iran and the west, is that whilst their homophobia is institutionalised, ours is unofficial and not spoken about in polite society.

Status: offline 		Seeks - its not universal, but alike with racism, one only has to create what feels to be a safe atmosphere and it will be expressed.

Incidentally, I just got the hate crime figures for West Mercia a week ago, so I know whats going on out there is likely to be at least double what is reported.

But I do concur that its generally the ignorant and stupid who are the problem in the main, and the overt problem almost totally.

This guy is just another crazy and when a bigger badder crazy comes along he will be toast I am sure. One thing it does seem you can count on with these type of people, they are very effective in killing each other.

Sure it may not be as overt as in working class districts and pubs, but its there all the same. Do you really think there are no MP`s who hold racist or Homophobic views ?

I thought a pre-requsite for being an MP was to be gay, have a rubber fetish, cross dress, enjoy spanking, have a personal domme or have a blow-up doll amongst other things, just to be one.

Status: offline 		Homsexuals in Iran can't come out of the closet because they can't get INTO the closet
in the first place. You can't tell even your family without the possibility of reprisals.

IF they don't turn you in you will at the very least be disowned and ostracized from your family.
You will be dead to them.

It is better to have your hand cut-off for thievery than come out of the closet.

I never said they didnt exist at all I said that at the moment the climate of opinion as observed from implemented public policy is not homophobic. Pay attention lol.

Adding to MC's list wasnt an MP found  with an Orange in his mouth, wearing Ladies underwear and having suffocated ie he wasn't moving much,
was having trouble breathing, had gone very pale shading blue and was in fact... dead !.
The Ladies underwear I can understand the Orange I cant lol
