In other words, vanilla is the opposite of kinky.

In reference to the 'vanilla' under your username, it simply means you have posted less than 26 messages in the message boards.

Dang, I wondered what those little adjectives meant! And why I have the little bdsm symbol.....

I happen to like vanilla ice cream. Poor vanilla... always being picked on.

Vanilla ice cream is good...but it's better with hot fudge and/or caramel.

For the record, I use the word vanilla here at times though I try to avoid it and use non-kink. I find people fling the word vanilla around way too much.

People talk about their kink life and their vanilla life. if that were true, there would be many multiple personalities cases on these boards!

I don't actually think vanilla exists.

I included "vanilla" in my profile as a qualifier, to let readers know that I'm not merely focused on scening... that there's more to me than a seething cauldron of libido.

In actuality, I don't even tote around a self-perception of being kinky or dominant. Those are externally imposed labels. I just consider myself me. Because I don't turn what's labeled "dominance" on and off, it's part of the package for anyone who interacts with me. That does not mean I'll share my libido with any Tom, Dick (lotsa dicks dropping onto my doorstep) or Harry.
