I have a question that I cannot find the answer to regarding mail on collarme.

On the few other sites I have brought my girl to, I have regularly looked after her mail for her, at her request.  Some places are ok with this, as she is my girl; a few were not ok, citing that it was still considered private/personal.

Does anyone know collarme's stance regarding this?  Is it an issue for a Dom/me to review their slave/sub/pet's mail for them?

No matter what the site's policy, what's to stop her from sharing her password with you?

Kind of a moot question, really.

I know in the relationships in which I engage, passwords are shared freely to instill security. Honesty and openness are paramount in the types of relationships in which I engage.

If she gives you the password, or you set the account up for her - I don't see problems and I do know some people here do the very same thing.  There isn;t anything in the TOS as far as I know.
As an alternative, you could always set up a joint one.

I am aware of the password and did walk her through the setup of her account, including giving my "ok" for the profile she wrote.  As Michael said, sharing of information instills and demonstrates trust, and both myself and my girl are firm believers that trust and communication, among other things, are paramount for the relationship we have.

We are planning to create a joint account together in the future; there's just a few RL things we both need to take care of first.

Thanks for the replies, and thanks in advance for any other replies addressing the situation.

Silly question but how would CollarMe or anyother site for that matter know who was logging into someones account if that person had the account name and password?

Blessed be,
Nika

It depends, but as a rule, where it was an accepted practice to do so, my girl would say in her profile that I checked her mail to scare off the "n00bs" and wankers.  [And most of the time, it worked; the few who didn't respect her request for people to communicate with me before approaching her privately were, by and large, too hopeless to understand the courtesy and respect behind the request].

Lumus,
That is a practice many on this site have but again my question was if you didn't put those statements in her profile or journal or tell people how would they ever know? So even if CollarMe didn't approve I honestly don't see how they would be able to track if it was actually a specific person logging into an account.

Blessed Be,
Nika

If the practice is accepted then I would have my girl state as much upfront in her profile.  If not, I would instead implement a practice wherein my girl emailed me copy/paste of said mails for my approval.  That would allow us to practice our preference without violating the wishes of the site, and would also be mentioned in her profile.

This would be as much to respect the TOS as to effectively communicate how my girl is looked after by myself to any who actually read her profile!   It could be argued as semantics, but ultimately, the reasoning is to play by the rules and be forthright.

I don't have to be honest about it, but I'd rather be.

A side note:  since my girl and I are currently located in different countries, any admin with access to see what site is connecting could put two and two together, if they bothered to look.

If all else fails I could go the safe route, assume it's not ok, and do the whole "email  a copy/paste" thing.  If it were, however, allowed it would be simpler to just log into her account.
