If you have cellulitis don't wait to get into to see a doctor. Get yourself up to urgent care as soon as you can. I have had this several times now. The last time my daughter came down with strep the same time I got sick, so I was trying to take care of her first. When I get cellulitis I run fevers and have a hard time even getting out of bed, so I let it go for about 3 days. By that time my lymphnodes had gotten so swollen I couldn't bend my leg at the knee. I ended up staying in the hospital for 10 days. My leg looked like I had been burnt in a very bad fire. There is the risk of blood poison with this so don't wait around to see what will happen get your leg looked at right away

Cellulitis is an infection that can be life threatening if not treated timely and properly. I wouldn't wait until Thursday.

Yes, please do whatever you can to find a way to get there tomorrow. Mine was only on my leg, too, but even though I went to the doctor immediately, it still was painful and nasty and hard to cure.

Please either go to a walk-in clinic soon if you cannot see a doctor.  I had a temp of 103, and a nasty, discolored, swollen, right leg that took almost 2 weeks to cure.

Why do you not have a way to get anywhere?  No time, or no transportation?  I'm two hours away, but if it would save your life....

What is cellulitis?

Cellulitis is a spreading infection of the skin that usually begins as a small area of tenderness, swelling, and redness on the skin. As this red area begins to spread, the person may develop a fever, sometimes with chills and sweats, and swollen lymph nodes ("swollen glands") near the area of infected skin.

*blushes*  thank you all so much for the concern!!

i didnt have a way in because we have only one vehicle....wolf was at the g/f's house last night and had to close tonight, so i didnt think i would be able to make it in.  he didnt know about the problem.

when he got home and found out though, he called his boss and told her "taking her to the ER, will be in when i get there!"

it was NOT cellulitis.  it WAS an abscess the size of a racketball.  large amounts of ugliness drained out when the doctor lanced it...i got fussed at to find a primary care doctor immediately if not sooner when he took my medical history, and found out that i dont react to reflex checks (the hammer to the knee)....that added to the "you must have stroke damage" MRI i had a few years back had him saying "very likely MS" and that needs to be taken care of.

Sir is proud at my report that i was able to keep the noises down to whimpers and "ow ow ow ow ow!!" at a very small tone of voice.  see....an abscess that big, they cant totally numb it with the lidocaine.  owwww!!!!!

it was wonderful thing to have wolf take care of me...normally he doesnt.

morphine is my friend...so is the scrip for lortabs.  i'm feeling much better, i can actually sit this evening without being in pain at all as long as i dont move.

again....thank you all for the concern!!
