to me the art of kinbaku is not just about suspention..I started out doing floor scenes that can be just as involved and pleasing,so much hype is put into the suspention, and we seem to forget that floor work can be just as amazing in my opinion, anyhow if you are a beginner I would suggest to stay away from full suspention umless (you have an established rigger by your side) and look into more intricate floor work and maybe one leg suspention first....

to Esinem re;learning the basics of Shibari.I'm relatively friendly w/ ropes & knots,& even suspension, in an outdoors way.(4 yr. old new growth, tensioned w/ rope to leather " support sleeves") ,but this strikes more to an art form. Sculpting with rope-actual bondage almost a secondary consideration. What are your best recomendations for beginners? Travel is not a viable option, and I will not risk my sub's physical well-being  with some local self -proclaimed "expert"rigger,w/o some of the basics,at very least, under my belt.....suggestions?   -Ironspike-

Master used the ropes on me again the other night, and WOW!  It gets better each time............

Was fascinated by the marks left on me once the ropes were removed.  i didn't think to go look in the mirror after they were removed from my back, but Master said they were beautiful.........i will go look next time!

I agree with holding out on the suspension till you have had lots of practice. See if you can find someone who teaches it and go to classes together.
