Hello :) Hope everyone is having a great day!!

I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice.

I've been searching for a Master for quiet some time..maybe 4 years both actively and inactively. All with no such luck. I'm a good girl, with a lot to offer, and generally speaking, am a fairly good catch.

The internet thing is fishy, but I've tried it regardless because I don't know where else to turn.

Where does one start when they are completely out of the scene yet trying to break in? haha.

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way. Any suggestions would be much appreciated :) :)

You're not missing something, it's just a matter of who you find, where you find them. I've met countless subs for the past 3-4 years, though it's given me some nice play experience, I do not have a relationship with any of them.

It could take quite sometime before you ever find 'that one', that makes everything feel great. All you can do is keep looking and hope they show up at some point.

Where are you looking? Don't limit yourself to just BDSM events and avenues. People have a pretty decent success rate finding people in "vanilla" situations. It can be a touch more tricky but I prefer it.

well...here to save the day! i am guessing you are fairly close to chicago or atleast able to go up there for a friday or saturday night thing...maybe? well...you have access to a real life bdsm community and you are of age now!
and after a quick google search....i would really suggest to you, that you start here... http://tngc.org/ that is a tng group...specifically for 18 to 35 people in chicago into BDSM

absolutely....if you have any questions or concerns, email the group's organizers and address it to them...if you feel the need...ask if you can possibly meet one on one with someone before hand like at the meeting place early or if its somewhere private at like a coffee shop before hand near the meeting place...

edited to add: or take a really open friend you already have...things like this you can go and just watch...no participation required....

I think most events are safe to attend solo. I've found that I tend to feel safer at BDSM events and clubs than vanilla ones.

me too, 100%...i will hop on a plane, train or bus and travel anywhere if i know there is a BDSM event waiting on the other end of that trip by myself...but you could give me enough money to travel by myself for any other reason..

Aqua...thats not your voice we are paying to appreciate!

anyway, im gonna pipe in and agree with these two....local BDSM events are the best, and Ive personally been attending them alone for an awful long time. Ehrm..before I should have..lets put it that way. I also have often felt more safe at them than your typical vanilla club. Sometimes it helps to bring along a girlfriend to converse with, but its not neccesarry. TNG groups are great also, you are lucky if you live anywhere near an active one.

Or you could just go to the local mall in a tshirt that says "are you my Master?"

Rightontime: I'll echo what the others said. Don't be afraid of BDSM events. No one's going to kidnap you or do anything against your will, or anything else you might be imagining.

Depending on the specific event, I would expect you to find several "Dungeon Masters" - people who make sure things don't get out of hand. Further, from what little I've experienced those in the scene are real sensitive to the 'evil' stereotypes that filter to the vanilla population.

I strongly suspect if you went, and God forbid did run into some kind of trouble, you'd find entire packs of Doms and subs coming in to help. BDSM events are pretty safe.

As for 'vanilla' situations, there's a thread in the Switch section called...I think... "How do you know?" with some ideas on meeting people in more mundane situations.
