heh um it means to bring food to a customer who is wating impatiently.. Serve comes from the latin word Server, which means waitress. No really. To me it means to do things for. Hate the word serve. Rather do. Please, make happy. Ummm Housekeeper? Un paid maid? heh mmm. to do for? Then of course theres the long drawn out explanation

I'm going to attempt to keep this post to the lifestyle context and thus avoid my usual smart aleck remarks, lol. "Serve" can mean almost anything - from domestic chores to sexual pleasure, so long as He desires it. If i am pleasing Him, then i am serving Him, and vice versa.

To me it means, within this lifestyle context, to do the things I am asked to do. For example, to make and bring him food or drink, to be there for him sexually, to shop, to do chores around the house. Whatever he asks of me is a service to him..

Respectfully,
sultry

serve means how I help my fellow men and women. Not just my Dom. I am a servant. I was born with a servant's heart. I don't know if I identify anymore as explicitly Christian (although I am thinking of converting to become a Quaker) but a lot of the passages and stories of Jesus (Jesus the person/historical figure) have proven really helpful and fulfilling to me. To me, to serve means to lay down your selfishness for another, to bring happiness to another. "service" and "submission" are two totally different things. I prefer to be identified as a service-oriented sub or a servant, preferring those terms even to slave or submissive.

Those are just my thoughts.

The first thing I think of when I hear the word serve is a beautifully expressed serve done by a gorean slave.

What the others have described so far I think of as service.

"Serve" is the single word command that Master gives, when he wishes me to devote my entire focus to His physical pleasure. It generally starts off with oral service, then may migrate to other forms of sexual servitude. It may involve specific sacrifices of pain. It means whatever it takes to please Him fully to the point of being sated. It may well be that in the future, the command will be followed by Him gesturing at someone else. The desired effect would be the same, with a different target.

I think it's just easiest for me to put in a link to an article I wrote about this a while back.

How May I Serve?

Hello There,

Serve means many things to me.
1) It means taking care of those around me and going the extra mile to meet the needs I see in others. I think anytime you give of yourself you also get something back. To serve means at first you have a gift, a commodity or talent you can share with someone who can use it. This brings me great joy, self-esteem & confidence. To know I have enough gumption to be able to give to others without it taking away too much from me in the end is a blessing I feel every day. Even if it's a material thing I give, the benefits of being blessed enough to give something away is a payoff in itself.
To serve my Master is to watch for any opportunity to make him happier than he would be if I made no effort. It means I care enough to pay attention to is wants and desires and do my very best to fulfill everything he feels he needs to be happy with me & in general. Sometimes it's the way I speak to him in response to something he's said, it's obeying his requests, it's caring for his body, mind, sexual and spiritual needs to the best of my ability and basically being an asset not a liability to him.
3) Like others mention here it's also waiting on people & bringing them food or drink, playing tennis, volley ball, and badminton, helping clients with purchases, and it's even delivering court papers to someone.

I think service is a humongous gift that when you give it away it gives you something even greater back every time.

Sincerely,
sub suzanne

it reminds this slave of the time she spent "serving" her parents, the time she spent "serving" her children, the time she spent "serving" her community and the time she spends serving Master.
