I have to base it on my own setting of course.. and boy everytime I say it .. it sounds extrememly over the top arrogant.. but here goes... I was raised some weird mix of chippewa ojibwe, christian, and follow your own path type of beliefs in my family. So I learned of spirit, faith, shamanism, bhuddism, dao and taoism, and all kinds of igions and isms... Everytime Im bound for a day or more in total sensory deprivation, I am forced to reach a state... That state dare I say is what a seeker achieves with a shaman.. a monk spends their life trying to achieve.. I journey, I travel, I connect, I explore and understand not only every emotion, thought, spirit, and corner/crevice of my own mind, but I travel outwards in thought and connect spiritually with everything my spirit/mind/imagination/soul or whatever you want to call it can connect with.. The ability to deal with nothingness is a spiritual journey all of its own... and when one learns to cleanse, empty, and restrengthen themselves in something where someone has taken away everything, including involuntary functions... You begin to understand many things inherently, that many people have spent their entire life trying to find, achieve, or control. Everytime I go to into supspace I recharge and come out feeling like superman... so there has to be something that recharges my spirit... and brother.. thats spiritual healing XD
