sounds like another food myth to me ...like mixing pop rocks and soda can kill you.

oh it cant kill you...but it can make some great damage...i've seen a friend trying to be cool and ingesting those two items in a fast way...all his holes were dripping from soda cause of the chimic reaction from the pop rocks.
not a pretty thing to see.
but if for people who are morbidly curious, there are tons of those kind of videos on youtube. blah.

However, ranch dressing is fantastic on pizza.  Try it, folks.  You'll like it.

When i was in western NY that was a big regional thing (along with something called "beef on weck" [:'(]) and i never did get it...

Although i do have my spaghetti with butter and garlic rather than tomato sauce.

And now i want wings.

Me so hungry!

My son eats his spagetti noodles with nothing but butter....weird child...cant stand tomato sauce...anyway....

the same goes with my 5yr old UM - she enjoys plain spag noodles with the grated cheese on top however will eat pizza with tomato sauce and cheese

That's my 18 year old although she prefers white pizza. Half white for her, half buffalo chicken for her brother. I'm sure the pizza place thinks we're strange.

How can you not like beef of weck?  It's beef.  It's weck.  How can you go wrong?  If you ever get back to western New York be sure to stop at the Anchor Bar - the place where chicken wings began.

<snip You know, they stopped throwing rice at weddings because they found out that birds eat the uncooked rice, and then it absorbs fluid in their stomachs, making them swell up and die. <snip>

That's funny! As well as pure BS! Not to mention all those uninformed birds out on the farms who are eating the rice grains, Oh me, Oh my!
When I was a kid we use to feed Alka Seltzer to seagulls at the beach and it use to swell them up so they could not fly for a few mins, but did not kill them!
Note: not something I do or would allow someone else to do these days, I have aged a bit since then.

I am still pondering the thought of eating dry (uncooked?) spaghetti. You know, they stopped throwing rice at weddings because they found out that birds eat the uncooked rice, and then it absorbs fluid in their stomachs, making them swell up and die. I find the thought of swollen spaghetti belly to be more worrisome by far than the ranch dressing. Just saying..........

Good to hear about the rice, but remember that bread is still bad for the birds!

Don't quote me on this, but, doesn't Ranch Dressing go with everything? :)

I wouldn't say Everything abdi, but it can certaintly enhance a lot of things. and I like diffrent styles of ranch for diffrent things.

Fried zoochini's at the bowinkles needs lays ranch, thick creamy  not going anywhere. so do lays chips with ripples. Breadsticks from Mary's needs the ranch the restaraunt supplies. my potato's and chicken need lighthouse lol.
