I have to echo the sublingual tablets or drops.  Get your shots in and then start eating better.  You can still get plenty on  veggie diet but whether veggie or omni, you have to keep an eye on your intakes!  Taking a daily sublingual after you have gotten your levels back to where they should be and eating food that are high in the Bs (B vitamins absorb better when taken in groups and also when NOT taken in mega-doses, so take a sublingual and eat a little something that is rich in Bs).  If you don't have something effecting absorption itself you should be alright.

I've never been diagnosed with have low B 12.

However, I do take a multi B 12 complex vitamin every day and keep energy drinks near by. I also like OJ. My snacks include an abundance of nuts with sunflower seeds. I also like to eat pork shops.

When to comes to having deficiency, you have to ask yourself two questions.

1. Is there enough of it in my diet.?

2. Am I taking or eating something that takes away from B12 or is there something in my digestive tract that's keeping me from digesting it?

In most cases, it's going to be one, the other, or both.

Either way, I think you're going to pull through.

I have not been diagnosed by a doctor as having B12 deficiency, but let me tell you what I've concluded. 

I have been having problems remembering things for about 8 or 9 months.  I frequently have trouble recalling details of conversations, even from just a few minutes ago, and my ability to perform as an administrative assistant has been drastically reduced because I can't keep track of all the tasks I have to accomplish.  Just two weeks ago I did some research on memory loss and discovered that B12 deficiency could be a factor. Related to that was the pernicious anemia I have seen a few other posters mentioning.  Last year a blood test showed that I was anemic, so that seemed to me further evidence that I need B12.  The final convincing factor I found this week:  a new line of vitamins designed to replace losses caused by prescription medicines.  I looked to see if there was one for the antidepressant I take.  Sure enough, the main vitamin this product replaces is B12.  Therefore, I have concluded that both my memory loss and anemia are caused by a vitamin B12 deficiency caused by my antidepressant. 

Tune in in a few weeks to see if the vitamin supplements have improved my memory.  Good luck with your injections!
