But remember that older guys can still become fathers well into their later years. The same does not hold true for women.

I believe there are cases in which some women did bare a child late into their 60's... While infertility strikes women over a certain age, men are not immune to aging cells and do suffer from infertility as well - especially those over 35 who are twice as likely to be infertile as those under 25. Also, they too are subject to having children with birth defects due to the decreased genetic quality / DNA damage of their aging sperm.
