I think it would be great to add the Top/bottom choices to identify oneself. However, I think it would be a great amount of work to enact a list to everyone's preference. Someone mentioned that it should include so much as tras-switch, etc., etc. I certainly don't think the site needs to go so politically correct as to list every possible option. That's what your profile is for. If you're AB, say you're AB in the beginning line of your profile.

Lady Pact, that is a good point. And the Cyberists having their own section won't stop them from bugging r/l er's. On b.com it is set up top, bottom, switch. I like that better. If CM does add Top and bottom, I may change mine to top, but I don't know, I enjoy being called a switch.....

Tops and bottoms would be great choices to add, as well as 'bi-curious' under Sexuality. A lot of people have mentioned in posts here that they are curious about same sex relationships, but don't consider themselves bisexual. Maybe the Orientation catagory could include Dominant, submissive, slave, switch, top and bottom. Then the Sexuality catagory could include straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, bicurious. And a new catagory for Play Position that includes top, bottom or both. I think that covers everything....... I think. [8\|] [:D]

I think top and bottom would be great additions, or somehow to search for people who are just looking for play partners and not relationships..... I wonder if we could manage a category for people like myself who are just looking for sex.......

Frankly, although the tone the OP has about bottoms and Tops seems a little judgemental, I think the idea is sound. But, I would much rather take it a few steps farther: Rather than wasting so much space for "BDSM movies," I think CM should open up the catagories here in the message boards to be a little more varied. It should reflect more of the sub cultures that exist in our community. I mean, if Gor (who hate being connected with BDSM in the first place, but who have recently informed me that they are only here to cruise for slaves) if they can have their own catagory, I see no reason why there shouldn't be one for the growing number of pony players, or the victorian-style dominants, or the Furries, or the adult babies, or the transgender community. CM seems a little spotty on their offering of space to various other kinks.

CM having a section for BDSM movies is how they pay the bills for the website. (plus the advertisements.)I would like to see a forum on Edge play, and spirituality. But the thing is, is that this site in comparison to bondage.com is pretty small. I don't think (at this time.) the site is big enough to support a bigger message board. I mean I look over at some of the forums and clubs on b.com, alot of them don't see that much action.

great idea!!!! this slave's dream of a "permissive" forum, for those who don't think the term "submissive" really describes them might come true some day, too, but she doesn't get her hopes up too high. this slave believes wholeheartedly that the powers that be CM would certainly miss out on all the sadistic pleasure that must come from observing the confusion, the frustration...the ambiguity of it all, narrowing the descriptions down to as few variables (boxes) as possible, all without benefit of definition...[:)]

And Dnomyar, not all of us care for going to a place of worship. If you don't care for spiritual discussions, then don't read them. Sorry if I read your post wrong.

I do like the idea of having selections for top and bottom added. I don't think much beyond that should be necessary though as the profile is there to tell about you. Oh and we need one additional smiley in the selections here.............beating a dead horse.....lol. So many threads go in that direction, I'm thinking it would save the beating head against a brick wall smiley some pain [8D].

I object to the fact that you accuse people of lying when they don't have the opportunity of selecting a more specific label. Besides many bottoms fall into the category of bedroom submissive only. And although you may be looking for more than that, many are not. However I do think it would be better if the powers that be added top and bottom.

Gosh there are so many labels!!! Its hard to keep track of whos what with who and when and how you can tell. I think that its a good idea for people who want to define themselves in this way but i also think that sometimes we can all be a bit too preoccupied with what box we like to think we fall into and then what box others would put you into.
