I was wondering if anyone knows if there are health concerns (besides the obvious - burns) regarding ingesting ash.  I often use my slave as an ashtray and she sometimes swallows the ash - the rest of the time I ash on her body.  I am a cigar smoker, so she is swallowing quite a bit more than with cigarettes.  She ingests maybe one or two good sized chunks of ash from a cigar every few weeks, so she is hardly on a steady diet of ash.  But each chunk is about the same amount of ash that an entire cigarette would produce.  Obviously ash is not part of a balanced diet (I'm betting its low fat and low carb), but are there any significant health concerns we should be aware of?

as long as it is completely out  and not still burning when she swallows it...and she is not throwing it up....i don't think there should be any problems considereing the infrequency....if she starts to have any sort of digestive problems following swallowing ash and you could not find any other cause, i would be concerned and possibly get her to a doctor if the symptoms didn't subside....otherwise...turns ya'll on? go for it....

As any ciggy smoker, in the days before no one thought to NOT smoke near UM's knows, a little ash will not kill them. As we also know, littlies tend to stuff anything they can find in their mouths.Yes, there was a time when people smoked near UM's, and it wasn't overly unusual to find a UM with a fist full of fag ends (ciggies, not gay guys) and ash all over their faces.

Keep it infrequent, though, and as chelle said, watch for signs of problems.

Well, if the ash is thoroughly just that, ash, meaning burned through, it is merely returned to basic carbon or harmless filler.

Eating tobacco even can't hurt you(in very small dosage). The other threat of  nicotine poisoning is through injestion of the filter, is toxic.  The filter is what holds the nicotine in concentrate form which can be illness producing or even fatal to the young or if in a current weakened state.

You might want to google carcinogens and ash with it's relationship to cancer.

Other than that, I don't see any real harm with this practice. Just realize that a break may be needed from time to time. I also encourage the use of water and antioxidant drinks in large quantities.

with the infrequency....one or two good size chunks of ash every few weeks....i don't think any kind of break will be needed as long as there are no problems....

and came4u mentioned the filters...well...the OP smokes cigars...no filters...so i would guess...as you smoke it down, be more careful about the toxicity....

Thanks for all the great responses.  Sounds like there isn't too much to be concerned about, which is what I suspected.  But, I just wanted to check.

Other elements are retained, for the most part, in cigarette ash and butts.

I read about quest ciggies. Some have no nicotine at all due to a new tobacco that has been developed.

I have never heard of these before.
