Now, I could give you a few tips on the weird stuff you have going on with the top of your head. It is weird looking. Kinda like little feeler things sticking all over. And, you really should smile or something, that deer-in-the-headlights stupid face isn't doing much for me either.

Are you feeling a bit annoyed yet? A bit taken aback? Snarkied on? Well, you see the photo's people choose are generally a sensitive issue for them (unless they are a smirky nasty tempered bitch like me........in that case, there is nothing you can possibly come up with to cause me to do anything but laugh at you for it) and you really should learn a little tact. Unless of course you don't care who you offend and have all of your slave/sub needs taken care of.

Do you get where I am coming from on this Davie?

welp...the only thing untruthful about my avatar and main profile pic is that Im not black and white in real life. Sorry, didnt mean to decieve anyone, but my 7yo UM took that pic of me when he first got a new digital camera for his birthday and I like the fact that he took it trying to be all "artistic" and stuff.....

I looked just like my avatar 25 pounds ago. Oh, and about a foot of hair ago too. (oops and my avatar has better posture)

Avatars can be fun, an extension of personality real or perceived. They can be a symbol of who you want to be, who you were or who you are.
Too, they can be symbolic of nothing more than a cool picture of something.

If you decide that choosing an avatar is a type of false advertising I suggest that you come to terms with the concept of an avatar often times being something that isn't real.

OK, I just found this thread, and I have to say something. I AM FAT, and yes gosh darnnit, I have a sexy avatar. But if people look at my avatar, it says something about who I am, and that is why I chose it. I am fat, and I am also a sex kitten, pain slut, submissive, lover, artist, frustrated author, mother, daughter, friend, employee, volunteer. If someone can't take the time to get to know the person behind the fat chick, then they are missing out on somebody with a lot to give.

Off of my soapbox now, sorry!

I used to have my actual picture up as my avatar. I took it down completely because I didn't feel like deleting any more of the stupid letters about my breasts. Until I found a new picture, I threw up the picture of the pretty faerie because I've always liked them and Amy Brown's work. Just haven't really bothered to change it since I do like the picture. If you want to see what I look like (I don't actually have wings! *GASP*), you are certainly free to check out my profile. As long as women don't actually send you pictures of someone else and claim it is them... I really don't see what the problem is.

As I don't always check out people's profiles, I typcially don't make a note if their avatar is what I consider to be factually representative of them.  I do, however, understand the tendency to associate a particular avatar with certain posters.  There's usually a big disconnect for me if they change their avatar, or if another poster adopts the same one.

My avatar... well, it's what I could manage.  [;)]

I am thinking that you must have been admiring a woman because of her avatar and then discovered that she is an 'old fat chick' ;)  Why else would this be preying on your mind?
 
I guess I must be an oddity,,,I actually read the profiles....they generally tell all those silly pertinent facts like age, weight, height, marital status, etc. etc. etc.

Personally, I see a whole lotta sexy, confident, amazing, skinny, medium, heavy, young, middle, older women who have strong beliefs, opinions and attitudes and THAT'S hot. The pics are either them, or an indication of, who they are and how they think and how they feel.

Now the guys, on the other hand......................................................................just kidding!![8D]
