Kaiynasha -> MSNBC Reports: wife/slave kills Master/husband? (10/28/2007 2:56:13 PM)

It is on right now. It is about a woman who murders her husband and how she plans to defend herself. The relationship was a contract of M/s and she was branded with his initial "Killer Cane" or KC. He told her the nicks on his arms were all those he had killed before her. She was treated like a slave and one night called 911 because she shot her husband. She says he was reaching for a gun to shoot her and she shot didnt want to die but life- so she shot him.

The report ends with her taking a plea bargain. They stated 60% of these cases end this way. So sad.

Ok...if she knew he had killed his other slaves WHY in God's name did she continue with this relationship?  Let me add this to my profile : Hard limit-DEATH AT THE HANDS OF D/s.

Aren't there more important things for MSNBC to be reporting?

It's all entertainment these days.  And sadly, that's how most people want it, too.

Hmmm, not too strange.  Vanilla people kill each other all the time...so we're no different.

It all sounds kind of fishy, though.  She's either stupid...or a genius for having a sympathetic sounding excuse.  I mean, really, how could a jury not feel sorry for a poor "abused" slave?  I mean, just think about how it looks.  He could have been the nicest guy in the world, but a jury would never care about that.  So, she gets a plea bargain.

Of course, I also concede she could very well be telling the complete truth as well...  I just got a strange feeling about it.

I saw this report on Discovery Channel, I think it was, last month some time.  They had an arsenal in their home.  From the way he was slumped over on the couch, they determined she shot him in his sleep.  But they were an M/s couple...just not a very healthy one from what was portrayed.

And I agree - non D/s folks kill each other daily.  It's sexier though (news-wise) when someone in an alternative lifestyle does something funky.  Then people can get on their perspective bandwagons :)

She must have been one of those no-limits slaves [8|]

Have any people here heard the story of Delia Day? (This was the name she went by on her website, not her real name.)  She was a slave who had a website detailing in prose and pictures her life as a slave.  There was a free part of the site and a paid part, however I only went to the free part.  Apparently there was a lot more writings and photos at the paid part of the site.  Anyway, she chronicled her life as a slave really well, always referring to her husband as her "owner".  Identifying as a "sub" myself I was shocked and horrified, yet couldn't stop reading.  The woman had just about everything done to her you can imagine during their 10-year or more relationship.  She would say on the site that she was content, but I couldn't find anywhere she said that she was happy.  It was my thought at the time that she really didn't have the mental faculties to consent to be in this type of relationship.  Although she seemed, and I think was, very intelligent and well-educated, she said that she suffered from bulemia pretty bad at the time when she met him.  And usually people with eating disorders have a distorted view of themselves.  Anyway, for some reason I quit reading the site for a while and then a couple of months later I tried to go to the site and it wasn't working.  After a bit of investigating I found out why.  It turns out that she had shot her husband/owner a couple of months before that (December 2, 2003.)  The strange thing was that a couple of days before that in her live journal she was talking about how he was teaching her how to shoot it.  It was only after this happened that it came to light that the couple had two children and that her owner had one child from a previous relationship.  It appears that they had been sent to boarding school or something.  I really could not imagine children being present in their household.  Apparently she was arrested and released for reasons of self-defense.  As far as I know it didn't go to trial, but I could be wrong.  The website is of course down now.  Her last live journal entry was from the day before the shooting.  As far as I know, she has never communicated publically about what happened or the events leading up to it.  I have to admit, I was always curious, but respect that it's her privacy and her own business.

I have no idea why this is the rave, but I found it interesting that she made a plea bargain. Of course on the basis that the jury would find her guilty. Even though her defense attorney could assure her that they had a strong case.  The prosecutor scared the fear into her and she relented.

I suppose she didn't leave because she was a victim of domestic violence. Since this was her second husband and her first husband was violent as well.

Makes sense.  The woman needed counseling.  Too bad.  There really was no need to put the M/s twist on the story tho.  Durn media oversensationalism.

Twist?

Uhhhh...it was a major part of the story considering it was the basis of why she put herself in the position for this to happen.

Actually, I think these stories need to get out more.  We need to be protecting the girls, or guys, who are emotionally damaged or hurt and seek D/s as a relief and fix for those emotional problems and end up in a more physically or emotionally harmful relationship.

Does anyone have a link to this story or the title of the show?

theres a movie or tv quote, can't remember it exactly or where its from...but it says something to the effect of....if you're going to abuse your wife, don't teach her how to shoot....apparently that guy didn't see that movie/show....

I think that makes more sense. I think she may have made it all up. It kind of reminds me of this story I read about this chick who didn't want her husband to leave her to she took a frozen lamb-leg and hit over the head with it. And later making the weapon into a dinner and feeding it to the police when they go to investigate it all. =S

Oh well, the world is coming to an end.

That story is by Roald Dahl, author of the BFG, The Witches, and many other children's stories, and it is about a woman who finds out that her husband has been laid off from work. It comes from the compilation "Tales Of The Unexpected" which also includes a story about a landlady who takes in lodgers then kills them, and a man who chops his wife's neck with an axe whilst pretending to try to free her from a sculpture she stuck her head in.

True. The same way there was no need to put the 'war for oil, no WMD's exist, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11' twist on that Iraq invasion story. When WILL the media learn to spin stories in the RIGHT direction?

The Roald Dahl story was also on television as part of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.  Here's the original story. http://www.classicshorts.com/stories/lamb.html
