SixFootMaster -> Seance Time!! Who would you bring back from the dead (10/29/2007 3:14:05 AM)

Inspired by a post in the BDSM forums

CollarMe is holding a seance, everyone gather round. Who would you bring back from the dead?

Laurell3 suggests:

Marquis de Sade

well I'm sure you're going to get some responses like this...the Marquis de Sade would not be my first pick, my grandfather would be.  He died suddenly of a heart attack and now being an adult and knowing the overwhelmingly positive impact he had on my life and how absolutely awed I am at what he achieved in his life and how he gave so much to everyone around him, I would want to tell him thank you and I love you one more time.

All's fair in love and war and seances. You bring back your grandfather, I'll bring back the Marquis de Sade for you.

To be honest, the family I love is still alive - father is pushing 70 next year but still healthy-ish, never knew my grandfathers at all. I would bring back my grandmother on my mother's side, but she lived a full and happy life and I don't think there is any need to.

Thanks it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about being able to tell him how much he meant and still does.

I would like to talk to the Marquis de Sade as well....I would guess he would be amused at his place in history.

If it's possible, why don't you take a trip to his grave, and let him know? It seems like a perfect thing to do in halloween season.

It is, I usually cruise by the neighborhood they used to live in instead, it's full of wonderful memories. Graves don't have much meaning to me personally and the cemetary he's in is so freaking huge I spend more time lost than anything.
Thanks for the thought though.

My uncle Jim. He worked covert ops. He could tell me all- now that he is gone.

Me.  Think of it as an insurance policy.

I'd revive Lucy or another early hominid. Let's get some questions answered!

(And no, I would not kill Lucy. We can wait for her to keel over...Er, again, to answer those)

Jacob Waltz... I'd like to know where to find the Lost Dutchman mine!

Edited to add the photo I took last week of the Superstitions.

My gramps. He died when I was 13. My 9 year old brother never got to meet him. I'd bring him back so they could.

Celeste43 -> RE: Seance Time!! Who would you bring back from the dead (10/29/2007 9:21:03 PM)

My mother. My oldest was six months old when she died. And their personalities are much the same, they would have loved each other very much.

laurell3 - Yeah, but eventually I will be and I want to be brought back, thank you very much. :)

my list would be too long to stop at one.  At the top of the list would probably be my ex-Master.  He died of a heart attack at the age of 34. Way too early in my opinion.

I would bring back Sinatra.......I really could care less to bring back any political person..so I would just bring back someone who makes my heart sing *smiles*

How about Albert Einstein?  Talk to him about inflation (how the universe expanded during the big bang) and ask if he's got any ideas for a faster than light drive.  I'd bring him a pack of Camels.  (I don't smoke, but he was a fiend.)  Other options might include Michael Faraday, Enrico Fermi or Robert Oppenheimer.

In terms of the Marquis de Sade, I think if he saw this board, he'd die laughing.  He liked to hurt people.  I wouldn't mind chatting with Edgar Allan Poe though.

Apparently Sam Clemens wasn't much of a conversationalist, only funny on the printed page.

Might be kinda neat to talk to some of the evil bitches through time-the Countess Bathory, Lucretia Borgia.  I'd be curious about Cleopatra.

And since I'm an airplane nut, there'd be a few I wouldn't mind talking to- also curious about Amelia Earhart, and the woman who got lost on the Dole race.

I would bring back my mom she died when I was 7, she was only 41 and I would kill to actually have had her at simple things like my high school graduation, and college, to the bigger things like my wedding and the birth of my first child...... It makes me really sad to know she was/will never physically be here for any of that..... Plus I never really had time to get to know her.....
