A lot of those "hard on" creams are nothing more than desensitizers. Read the package carefully. They don't work very well on the man (I've tried a few of them), and they can actually counteract the positive results you're looking for with the partner since they can desensitize the yummy parts.
Some of the others are simply cremes that work in an amazing way... the more you rub it on, the harder you get. [&:]
Of course, you can get the same result with baby oil (for handjobs...don't use for intercourse) or KY, Astroglide, etc. No real magic there, except the magic of merchandising to male insecurity.
If you really think you need some help in that department, have a word with your doctor. There's are several products available that can make a WORLD of difference. The best thing is, it really works and it's safe (at least according to the FDA). It can be a little embarrassing to make that first step, but once you do... it's worth it.
There are also some pretty effective herbal/natural solutions. I recently read a great thread in here about herbal aphrodisiacs that has some really good info. Do a quick search if you're interested, and I'm sure it's pretty close to the top. I'm still new here, and haven't got the link posting thing down yet.
